(tmi maybe?) pains in pelvic area during sex

Title says it all girls.. Sometimes (not always) during sex I get pain in my right side, sometimes both sides, which is really intense. Help?

I had this yesterday and it scared the hell out of me! Got to wait for midwife app in 3 weeks to ask her why that was.
