Hi, I'm just looking for some advice regarding cytomegalovirus. I had some bloods taken last week due to rash/bites and have just been told I tested positive to the virus. They said it was more than 3 months ago but that would have meant I was in the first trimester. The doctor didn't really say much just that they would get in touch with my midwife. I've come home and googled the virus and am now worrying that I will have passed it onto my baby? What happens now? I'm really upset and just tried to phone the midwife but no answer. Any advice is much appreciated.

No idea what that is but didn't want to read and run ... If you are having trouble reaching your own midwife why not give the day unit a call and ask the on duty care team ... see if they can put your mind at rest ... number will be listed in your pregnancy notes alongside labour unit ... hope you get some answers so you can stop stressing about it
