Felt no baby movement at 21 weeks

Hi ladies, I posted recently about having a barely there baby bump but have a slighlty bigger concern now.
I am 21 weeks today with my first baby and have still felt no baby movement. These so called flutters or butterflies I am meant to be feeling don't seem to have occured, or I may have missed them. I am very active in everyday life and suppose I haven't paid very close attention.
I know I am still in the early stages to have felt actualy kicks etc but just upsetting me that I have literally felt nothing, especially when people keep asking me and looking at me funny when I tell them.
I have a posterior placenta so I know there are no reasons I shouldn't be feeling movement.
I explained my concerns to my midwife yesterday who told me to relax as on my 20 week scan last week the baby was fine and a good size and moving all around, but I hate this waiting game :(

They will come. At that stage it wasn't really a specific movement more a sensation which I couldn't describe and probably didn't notice most of the time. Ignore the people who look at you funny if you say no, they are probably going on popular science or a distant memory of when they think they felt their baby move, and focus on whet your midwife said-only a week ago your baby was moving around all fine and healthy and that is what matters.

Sunny I think until you can feel baby movements you're going to find reasons to worry, it's part and parcel of pregnancy. Your midwife is right, if you have a happy and healthy baby in there then there's no reason to worry. You'll feel it in time, it can be hard to recognise with your first but your little one will be making his or her presence felt soon enough. I think I was around 21 weeks when I first felt DC1 so it's not out of the ordinary by any means and you won't have to wait much longer :)

I didn't feel my first move until I was 22 weeks. When I did I was sat in the bath and felt a tiny flutter. Then nothing until 23 weeks.

Try not to worry. (Easier said than done. I know)

Did the scan show your placenta to be anterior? Mine is and now at 23 weeks I can only really feel her when she's really going for it otherwise I feel not much at all. I found having some lucozade and then laying down and concentrating to work the very first time I felt her. It will come!

I have only just felt movement at 21.5. It didn't feel remotely like butterflies, either, it feels like a big fish flopping over in there, or a stomach turning sensation like going over a hill on a rollercoaster.

Thank you ladies for your reassurance. Other people just panic you for no reason, like your not unsure ebough when its your first!

I was exactly the same, didn't feel anything until about 23 weeks. It's worrying, especially when people would tell me I should have felt something, but everything was fine and I now feel regular kicks that keep me awake at night Grin try not to worry x

I would describe the early movements a bit like a bubble of wind popping inside or a gurgle. If I hadn't of been looking for it I wouldn't have noticed and tbh I'm still not 100% convinced that was what it was but it gave me something to look for. I would then get more definite flopping fish movements but don't be surprised if your DH can't feel them. Even now I will feel loads of movements inside but nothing on the surface if I put my hand over where I can feel it and then other times my hand will move with a really hard kick underneath but I don't feel it inside.

I m 21 weeks pregnant I don't feel movement I m worries about pregnancy...this is my fourth baby...

I feel exactly the same as you but I'm nearly 24 weeks pregnant. I've not had the fluttering everyone talks about. I've had like a prodding sensation so not sure if these are kicks. I'm trying not to worry as every scan has been great, baby moving around fine and heartbeat strong and fast but just wish i had reassurance of the odd kick to let me know she's doing fine. I've been told my placenta is positioned atthe front so I'm hoping this is the reason for delayed kicking x

23 weeks here and only feeling proper movement in the last week or so and only after I had the anatomy scan. I had mild wind pains on and off before this and I think that may have been movement but on your first we can't really be sure can we !
