Help! anyone measured under but it's been fine?

Hi just looking for some reassurance (if there is any!) as had a confusing midwife appt today. It didn't go very well as I have raised BP, not feeling well and puffy hands but what worried me most was when they measured me i only measured 34.5 cm, I'm 36+5 and measured 34cm when i last saw her at 34 weeks so the baby's growth has dropped 2 centiles on the chart

She said that the babys head is down further so that's probably why, but filled in a scan request and i'm seeing the consultant tomorrow,

So what I wanted to ask was has anyone else had something similar and everything's been fine? my first pregnancy i measured a cm per week at the end.

well it seems like it was a false alarm as the consultant measured me today as 38cm! she said the babys head wasn't as low in my pelvis today but must have been a one off reading i guess! Not all good news as still high bp and have protein in urine, kicking myself because im pretty sure i gave the wrong urine sample to my midwife don't ask but just have to watch and see, hope everyone's ok

With my first I was told I was having a big baby then few weeks later they changed their mind and I was having a small one. Initially baby was lying transverse so measurements are in my opinion inaccurate. Once he decided to turn they measured and said he was small. I had a scan and they predicted 6lb8 ( couldn't get a totally accurate measurement due to his head being engaged. Turns out he was born 3 days late and only 5lb 6!
He was fine but very dinky.
This time they are keeping a closer eye on me as because of first baby being small and labour being quick ( making him distressed ) they want to see if this one will also be small.
I'm 28 weeks and have another scan in 4 weeks to check growth and also my placenta as that's currently low lying!

I've measured a bit over on some appointments and a bit under on others.... If your midwife isn't panicked, you shouldn't be either :-) they'll see it all the time.

I measured under at around 28-30 weeks with dd2, was sent for a scan and all was ok, dd was born a week early weighing in at 7lb 9oz.

ihatelego - Do you have pre eclampsia? Have you had a blood test to see if you have it? I was measuring slightly under, swollen hands, high blood pressure... blood test and urine test both came back with protein in. I went to my hospital maternity day assessment unit and tests confirmed I had pre eclampsia. I was offered a scan which identified cord flow was reduced. With blood pressure medication, baby's cord flow improved and allowed her to be born at a respectful birth weight for her gestation. If you're in any doubt, call your maternity DAU or maternity ward. hi plinkyplonks not as far as I know, they said they would do further tests on my urine and just to contact them if i developed headache/severe swelling/pain etc. I feel quite fine today i've been out and about and that so not sure what's going on atm :S got a growth scan next week though. Glad to hear you and baby were ok x

thank you, no it's all very eventful atm I had to go to labour ward yesterday for RFM, my blood pressure was really high but they did 30min obs and blood test and they were ok but got to go back for a repeat on monday so just in and out atm i'm sure it'll be ok and baby will be here soon though
