Got my mum to be Bounty Pack

Picked up my pack from boots today excited about £15 worth of freebies! I got a tiny pot of sudocrem and a pen! Along with leaflets and a mag of what to buy! Bit disappointed...
anyone got theirs yet?

Pile of shit. I got one pack with DC1, realised it was a wasteful bag full of rubbish and never bothered getting another. Certainly didn't bother getting any of it with DC2 and gleefully sent the Bounty leech on the ward packing

I hate bounty! They should NOT be on maternity wards at all. It's a security risk and terribly invasive for women who have just given birth. They will lie through their teeth to get your details - for example one told a friend of mine she HAD to get her child benefit forms from her.

They are indeed leeches. Don't give them your details - in fact, I'd be pressing to get them chucked off all maternity wards. They should NOT be there.n

I got a pot of sudocream, a pair of breastpads and a sachet of comfort pure amongst a pile of leaflets.

After my first I was hounded by them by mail/phone about various Bounty services, I was offered life insurance for my son over the phone so that "my family could take a holiday or pay funeral costs" if anything were to happen to my 7 week old DS

I didn't go near with my second DC.

In my second pack I had some Winnie the Pooh dribble bibs but that was all the seemed to be useful.

I signed up to Emmas Diary for the packs but every time I go to Boots and Argos they don't have any in stock.

I have only had emails since (now 25w) which go straight to my junk mail and I quickly scan through them once a day.

Are there actual Bounty people in the hospital??

Yup they are! SIL gave birth last week and they managed to sell her hubby a photo bundle for £110 for 3 photos! Needless to say he said he wouldn't have agreed if he wasn't completely shattered and overwhelmed!

Hello there - sorry for barging in but thought some of you might be interested to know that we've got a long-running campaign against Bounty reps on maternity wards, for exactly the reasons outlined in a few of these posts.

One thing we've learned is that however much people dislike Bounty reps on wards, they tend not to let their hospitals know - which means that hospitals keep on renewing their contracts with Bounty (who pay for the privilege of being on the wards) because 'we hardly get any complaints'.

So if you don't want them in your local hospital, do please get in touch with the hospital to let them know!

Absolutely hopeless pack - I was really excited until I opened it! Emma's Diary is much better!

Does anyone know much about the photo that apparently happens after birth in some hospitals? I am so worried about having a camera shoved in my face and a hard sell for the photos after going through such an exhausting an emotional experience!

I had the photos after DD was born, I didn't know it was a bounty lady as the midwife gave me my pack. I don't know who I thought it was as I had just given birth.

i got given the pack, haven't really looked in it, to be honest. but i did laugh because the mw said that nobody ever seems to bring it to appointments, even though it's quite a handy wallet to put everything in.

er, it's got I'M PREGNANT emblazoned all over it, and if you haven't told people yet, are you really going to use it?? we had to get a carrier bag to shove it in just to walk home...

Didn't bother either time and Sudocrem is rubbish - metanium is much better. The bounty cow walked in on me while I was speaking to a trauma counsellor (PTSD after birth) and got told exactly where to go. She left in a right snit huffing about how she didn't know I wasn't to be disturbed (apparently the sign on the door didn't clue her in) and now I wouldn't get child benefit. Hateful woman.

That reminds me - on OBEM and such I've seen women with their notes in bounty wallets. Is it just my trust (Oxford) who don't hand them out?

I got mine the other day and couldn't believe how crap it was. I didn't realise there was reps on the ward. One more reason to have a home birth tbqh.

Enjoy the (meagre) freebies, but beware who you unwittingly give your details to, they end up in the hands of marketing companies if you read the small print.

My birth plan stated"No Bounty Reps". Lying on the ward after my section, one had the temerity to yank open the curtains THREE times to try and sell things to me, once when I had my boobs out and was desperately trying to latch DD on.

The third time, the response she got from me want as polite as the first, that's for sure.

I was asked to fill out a questionnaire about my time in hospital afterwards, and it was noteworthy that the only negative thing I could comment on was the sour-faced Bounty woman who just didn't get that I didn't want her pouncing on me while I had a catheter in!

The bounty photographer nearly gave me a nervous breakdown last time. I was in for 7 days and she harassed me until I relented, I said no over and over again. She apparently didn't like my reasons why I didn't want an expensive photo of my very jaundiced baby. I was in tears about it, it's the last thing you need when you're exhausted and sore and worried.

I don't think the reps are in all areas so don't stress too much about them. As much as I despised the Bounty packs and their phone marketing tactics the lady who came in with mine after both births was quite happy to have a quick peek at the baby, ask how I was doing and walk away after being told no. We didn't have any photographers either.

I hate the fact that everyone carries their notes in an advertising pouch. I binned the one I got at 12 weeks and put it in a normal folio.

Can't remember which pack it was in (probs bounty) but there was a load of vouchers for things like baby leggings, a sling, one of those canopy things you wear when breast feeding and some other stuff where you order online and it's totally free apart from the postage. Thought it seemed too good to be true and searched about it online and it is a total scam! All the companies operate from very similar- looking websites (ie it's the same effing "company") and many reviews said the things ordered never showed up or if they did were majorly shoddy.

I've got a suggestion for a MN campaign. Although I can't quite remember the actual shite that was in my bounty pack other than a leaflet advertising hugely expensive cots just to make hard-up parents to be feel inadequate, my idea is this:

As many pregnant women as poss refuse to take home the pack apart from anything that's actually relevant -is there a pregnancy book or something? And leave all product related bullshit with the midwife. The midwives would get p'd off and give some pointed feedback to the Bounty Bastards

I hope Bounty reps eyes are burning, reading these comments. How on earth can they justify lying about being the only source of child benefit forms? At best they are a nuisance and at worst cause irritation and distress to exhausted or even ill women. Perhaps the company could post on MN and explain... Thought not.
