Sleeping with Painful Breasts

I am only 8 weeks but my breast are very tender, to the extent that I am not getting a very good night's sleep.

Does anyone have any recommendations to a supportive sleep bra? I have large breasts anyway (34F) and feel as though I need to keep the separate as it hurts when I lie on my side.

Thanks all

I'm a similar size and also had pain. It only lasted a short while thankfully.

I bought a crop top type bra from Sainsburys to sleep in which helped and also slept on my back

I'm using an old Nike crop top myself - I feel your pain! (36E)

I bought a couple of crop tops from M&S and also Sports direct to sleep in, was much better

I slept in a sports bra when mine were at my worst, it was agony! But then releasing them from their sports bra prisom in the morning would almost bring tears to my eyes!

prisom = prison!

Has anyone tried the wrap over style nursing/sleep bras?

I'm a similar size and had a Bravado nursing crop top during my last pregnancy. The pain does pass. I'm pregnant again now and just sleeping in a normal nursing bra.

Honeybear30 · 31/03/2015 14:12

I had one of the wrap over style bras for when baby was born and my boobs kept falling out! So probably not ideal if you are large chested and looking for support. I remember this pain well, thankfully it did pass.

Same here with the tears in the eyes when releasing the beasts.

I'm using stretchy cotton crop tops too (36F)

When did the pain pass for you Anything?

AnythingNotEverything · 31/03/2015 14:33

First pregnancy I slept in a bra all the way through (except for the odd night after DTD) and then throughout bf. The real pain of unleashing them stopped around 15 weeks I think. I think this was when the real rapid growth stopped. I did continue to grow but at a slower rate.

I was still bf when I conceived again and didn't get the pain this time around.

EmberElftree · 31/03/2015 14:42

My friend is pregnant and she hasn't had tender boobs at all like you this time around Anything.

Dottie, mine are boob tubes I got from a shop called Koton but I'm not in the UK. I've seen similar from e-bay though - they do help when sleeping.

I'm 10 + 4 and a 32F. My boobs have been painful since 4wks ... I have pyjama tops from Bravissimo that have inbuilt support. They aren't cheap but they're worth every penny!

Honeybear30 · 31/03/2015 22:09

It's reassuring to hear that they haven't hurt as much second time around. I envisage breastfeeding for quite some time and I'd be really upset to have to stop due to the pain from pregnancy. I'd say the pain stopped for me around 15/16 weeks as well from what I remember.

Mostlyjustaluker · 31/03/2015 22:11

M and s hidden support pj tops are good.

dottiemad · 01/04/2015 09:37

Thanks everyone. I will try your suggestions xxx
