Im totally panicking im 10+2 and tomorrow I have my booking appointment the mw is coming to my house. I just so scared incase shes not nice or my house isn't clean enough (been tidying all day). I know im very over weight so im guessing I'll be high risk which im also worrying about being called fat I just cant stop worrying.
What happens at the booking? Blood tests?
One top of all this im sick I have a cold which feels like crap.....aarghhhh
help x

Try not to worry, unless your home is really grossly dirty then they won't be concerned. If it was filthy with animal faeces, rubbish everywhere etc then it would be different but an average home is perfectly fine.

I am overweight but they didn't bang on about it too much - just told me the risks and advised me of any extra checks I may need.

The booking appointment was quite dull in my experience. Mostly just doing paperwork and having a chance to ask questions. I didn't have bloods taken or a urine sample requested until my second appointment but I guess this may vary.

Booking appointment will mainly be a chat and go through lots of questions to clarify details. Midwives see houses with new horns so don't worry about mess! Hopefully you midwife will be nice my first time the midwife was the first person I had talked in detail too about being pregnant and was great to have some sympathy for my symptoms. Midwives tend to go into the profession because they are caring people. Good luck let us know how it goes.

Thank you for replying my flat is so tiny seems like we have to much stuff. I'm just anxious to meet her. I don't think I'll really believe it until I have a scan and see baby actually in there!

How did it go?

TakesTwoToTango · 30/03/2015 18:49

I was going to say, don't be alarmed if she asks you questions about domestic violence/whether you feel safe in you home. It's a standard question and not a reflection on what she's seen! Hope it went well.

Thanks ladies I was worried about nothing the mw was lovely and yes lots of questions! She tried to take a blood test but couldn't get any plus I felt dizzy / hot / sick when she tried so going for that next week and should get my scan date in the post! So excited I also told my supervisor today so it was easier for appointments feels weird a couple more people knowing!
Thanks for all the advice x

so glad for you but thought it would go like that, you sometimes get bossy mid wives etc but they are usually lovely and very sympathetic!
