Hi guys so I'm expecting at the age of 26. My last period was on the 27th of February but according to clear blue I'm 3+ weeks which would put me at 5+!!!! The guy it happened with has his doubts that it's his but I hadn't been with anyone for more than 4 months !!

He wants to have a family but is very distrustful of me for some reason.
This do causing me so much stress!
Surely for indicator can't be accurate if my period was on the 27th of feb? I told him I'd be happy to provide him with
a dna test once the baby is born but I don't want this to cause me do much stress especially when I know the truth. :(

Hi I couldn't read this and not comment but I don't know how much use I'll be!

Don't panic! You know that he's the only one you've been with so you've nothing to worry about! If he's very untrusting of you, are you sure you should be with him? My last period was 9th Feb, I did my clear blue digital on 15th March and it said 2-3 but unless you know exactly when you conceived the docs will go on your last period so you will be 4 weeks exactly today!

Clearblue are notorious for not giving accurate readings. The only way to be sure would be a dating scan, and even those aren't completely accurate. How long is a normal cycle for you? If you ovulated on day 14 (as per the mythical average cycle) then that would have been 13th March. Your next period, again based on a 28 day average, would have been due today, 27th March. As you say, you'd expect only a 1-2 weeks pregnant on a clearblue. Most likely scenario is that the test is being it's usual unreliable self. Try not to worry.

And congratulations. :)

I agree with pp, Clearblue do often give inaccurate dates, but I also found out when trying to conceive that although I have a spot on 28 day cycle I ovulate around day 11, so it could just be that you don't ovulate when you think. I also agree with the other pp - are you sure you need to be with this guy? It may just be shock/panic making him say these things but really if he needs a DNA test then perhaps you're better apart. Good luck whatever you decide.

HoppityVoosh · 27/03/2015 20:42

3+ is the highest reading a clearblue will give so it could have said 3+ weeks ago. It's not that reliable.

scarednoob · 28/03/2015 10:04

Google how reliable the dates are on those things and you will see hundreds of people complaining about the same thing!!

scarednoob · 28/03/2015 10:05

Well, not exactly the same thing. It does sound as if your partner needs a bit of a talking to - he should trust you!! Good luck!

Thanks guys. He's a good man and I rink this has caught us all a little by sunrises especially considering he's only known me for about 7 weeks but has know of me for a long time.
He has some bad influences in his life that are muttering doubts into his head and I find i myself doing everything in my power to prove myself to him.

I honestly want this baby. And he does as well or so he says. But if he's going to cause me distress or unhappiness I'll gladly raise the kid by myself because it's a part of me.

I've given him options. I told him to leave if he's going to treat me like filth for the next 8 months but he apologized.

This entire situation isn't ideal. It's actually really really messed up. But I have a good head on my shoulders a day a good career and I know it's going to be rough but this baby is going to have the beat possible life even if it means just having a mom.

I don't know if they read higher than 3+. I got 3+ and I was 6 weeks. X

Fattycow · 28/03/2015 18:23

The tests only go up to 3+. It says either:

  • not pregnant
  • pregnant 1-2
  • pregnant 2-3
  • pregnant 3+
