Anyone newly pregnant out there, keeping it a secret for another few weeks?

I've had my BFP now for exactly one week, Smile so I'm only nearly 5 weeks. Only DH knows. What a struggle to keep a secret! All I can do is look forward to telling family and friends in a few weeks. Really hard...

Congrats- I think I am nine weeks but not sure- told DH and my mum. Like last time we will wait until the twelve week scan to tell everyone else. The great thing about doing that was that so many people tell everyone so early on now (which is fine- not criticising) that people were surprised by how soon the due date was when we told them. It was fun to have our own little secret.

Just found out too! 4+2 weeks and have a hen party to go to tomorrow! Unsure what to do as I used to smoke (gave up as soon as got positive result) and be a right party animal!! a few friends know we are ttc and know they will guess as soon as they see me not smoking and not drinking!! do I stay away?? Sorry to hijack your post!just need a little advise! xx

I'm only 4+6 and I'm already struggling to keep it a secret! We've decided to tell our parents after an early scan but it feels like ages away.

Kelman I would pretend you've quit smoking and you're cutting down on alcohol for TTC (I know people would raise an eyebrow if I didn't have at least one drink on a hen do). Go to the bar and get a diet coke or a lemonade, something that looks like it has alcohol in. If anyone buys you a drink just sneakily get rid of it. Soon everyone else will be too pissed to have a clue what's going on anyway!

It was really nice to tell my parents, they were so surprised and really happy. I'm 5 + 4 and fatigue has just hit over the past 2 days. It is such and overwhelming need to sleep. Hopefully nausea holds off another week.
kelman did anyone guess your secret last night?

I'm only 5 weeks. It's #3 so I half feel people will be a bit uninterested or worse, think it's too much as #1 and #2 are very little. I know my 2 Sil's and my sister are all yearning for a baby so there won't be much joy in telling them. But I know they will try to be thrilled for us. I on the other hand am totally over the moon that another little rascal is joining our gang! Terrified that I've been too lucky and it won't work out. We got pregnant first try with all 3.

Congrats droflove, we can be excited for you and alongside you. How lovely that this is number three and he/she is so wanted. Your happiness will overflow into others I am sure.
I just got my ultrasound appointment today for April 17th, can't wait. I'm 6 weeks today and can already feel my lower belly protruding, hope it isn't visible to my workmates though.
Very happy for you though, when will you tell family?

And kelman I would have done the same. Secret is safe for another week...

Thanks Willow and good luck with the ultrasound! I always did a private scan before at 7 wks or so as I get so ill we had to tell family early and wanted to be as sure as possible it was viable. This time though I would LOVE to make it to 12 weeks before telling. I didn't even feel the urge to tell my sis or best friend over easter. It wasn't even on the tip of my tongue. Trying to decide if we tell MIL early though so that she can get me on a special midwife team that books out. Half thinking of letting that go...

We told DH's parents at the weekend and they were over the moon. Still a week to go before I even see the doctor for the first time let alone have my booking appt or scan dates...seems to be going SO slowly.

We had a really tough weekend with some sad family news and I have a UTI so am not feeling the best today!

Droflove · 07/04/2015 21:39

Oh! I found out my due date is my grannies 95th birthday! How cool is that! Can't stop wondering if it's gonna be a boy or girl. It will be so different depending. We always found out before but this time I want a surprise but don't know how I can wait so long to find out!!!!
