Baby floating around at 34 weeks!

I saw the midwife today for my 34 check up. All is fine apart from the fact that the baby is basically moving around like crazy and nowhere near engaging, or being head down. This is my third baby and my stomach muscles are not exactly rock hard. My second baby was breech until 35+5 when he turned, although he didn't engage till he was born, but he was fairly solidly breech, ie not moving around. Today this baby was sideways one minute and then seemed to be upside down the next etc.

Has anyone had a baby doing this sort of thing?! Did it settle down? I have a routine 36 week scan in two weeks and apparently if the baby is still dancing around they will want to try an ECV and hope the weight of the head anchors the baby in the right position - and the odds are good of repositioning such a high up baby. But will the Spinning Babies/optimal positioning/moxibustion stuff be any use?

I was my mum's third baby and was turned three times by the consultant in the last 3 weeks of her pregnancy, turning back each time Blush . still don't like being told what to do Apparently I turned and engaged when she went into labour and was a reasonably straightforward delivery. Moxi worked to turn DD (my first) when she was still breech at 35 weeks, so I'd say it's worth a shot.

Best of luck with it all!

My 2nd baby did this.

I was having rather during bh and went into be checked at 37 weeks and she was transverse so hey kept me in incase of cord propose.

By morning she was breech next day head down. As soon as she was head down she stayed, she never did engage tho and no probs coming out :)

Thanks, both! DH is making faces at the idea of moxibustion again - we did it last time - but he can suffer a bit given my nine months of watching him drink booze. I'm hoping to have a home birth so really want to have a baby head down in advance of labour.
