So I'm having my gtt tomorrow, do you get results there and then or do you have to wait? I have no idea of what the result will be as I feel fine! All a learning curve for a first time mum to be!!

Thanks in advance for your answers:)

The nurse who did mine said results would be in about 3 working days - they would only contact me if there was a problem, so if I didn't hear anything, I could assume I'm in the clear.

They basically take your fasting blood, prick your finger, get you to drink some sugary gloop, leave you for 2 hours, then take more blood. Take something to do and a couple of bottles of water!

I had to wait about three days for results.

Take a good book with you, there's a lot of waiting around.

Ahhhh, they have told me to fast, drink a certain amount of lucozade at home then go to the clinic for blood to be taken 2 hrs later! Do you think we will have to hang around and wait for more tests?

No you should not wait because the idea is to wait 2 hrs after finishing the drink. So looks like you will do this part at home.

Just surprised they would let you do that on your own. Its quite important to drink exact quatity and test as exact time.
