Bloody, blooming, bloody Spanish Doctors! I had back an interesting visit to the hospital today. I am 34 weeks preggers and I have been being seen regularly as I have high blood pressure. First it was monthly, then fornightly and today I was told it needed to be weekly. Today they monitored baby took a urine sample and blood pressure. So when they told me it had to be weekly i asked if it could be done at my local clinic, as it takes 40 minutes to get to the hospital, I don't drive and dh has to take the day off work. I was told no!

Anyway on my way out I bumped into an Irish midwife and asked her why. It turns out that for some time i have had protein in my urine which has been rising!!!!! Umm nobody told me and now because i am starting to swell and my bp is rising, there is a strong possibility that when i have my next appointment, next week, that I will be admitted and induced!!!!!!!!!!!! The doctor makes the decision and it is deemed unimportant whether i know. Can you imagine the shock, if I had turned up next week completely unaware of the fact. I am really going to have to get my arse into gear, just incase.

Breathe!!!

The last thing you should do is freak out as your BP will get worse!

I had this with ds1 and swelled like a pumpkin. He was induced at 35 weeks.

You will be fine but you had better pack your bags!

lucy5, that is terrible, what an inhumane way to deal with people - thank goodness you bumped into that midwife. Best of luck and hugs xx
