Hi everyone,

I'm about to go on holiday and desperately want to buy something to stop my newly podgy thighs rubbing together in the heat. I have plenty of plain black maternity leggings from mothercare but I don't think these will go well under my summer dresses..

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? My things have become enormous and I can't go bare legged. In fact am I the only person who has this problem? I'm surrounded by women who have only put on weight on their cute little bumps whereas I seem to have swollen up everywhere!!

People on here always seem to recommend tights or leggings but chopped with scissors into shorts to wear underneath.

Oh thanks.. I feel like they might roll up at the edges though? x

Not sure, as haven't done it myself, but I just know I read lots of chaffing thigh threads in the summer where they all recommend doing that.

There's also a cream of some sort you can get specifically for this. Hopefully someone knows the name of it. I know that gets mentioned too.

I used to get this pre pregnancy and defo try lanacane-expensive but worth it. Saying that in the heat it never lasted long enough for me so is recommend cycling shorts. Decathalon has some cheap ones usually only in black though. I also bought some bog standard skin coloured spanx type things but non branded and not as good quality. Both options are hot but ime better then the burn if chafing

Enjoy your holiday-32 weeks and can only dream of sunshine ??

Definitely recommend the sloggi short things, so comfy. I got them from Debenhams I think but they were perfect under my maxi dresses. Evans do comfort shorts too but I found the sloggi ones best.

I don't know if they still do, but H&M had some cotton cycle short type things last year that are really good (they're not made from shiny Lycra!).

Last pregnancy I just wore some of dh's boxer shorts :) worked like a charm!

Seconding the lanacane anti chafing gel!! You may need to reapply if it's sweaty, and it doesn't work well over moisturiser but IT'S AMAZING!! Failing that, h&m and mothercare have cropped leggings in this week!

Primark have some legging style shorts in now - £2.50 a pair. They are mid thigh on me - I'm 5"7

Germgirl · 27/03/2015 19:58

these any good?
You need 'comfort shorts'. They're soecially made for chafage problems

ThenewMrsB82 · 27/03/2015 22:37

Btw, the leg fat- it goes. It's your body's way of storing fat for feeding the baby. I am breastfeeding and it disappeared very quickly

I went on holiday when pregnant with dd and it was boiling. I bought some 'comfort shorts' from ebay which were really cheap, and they stretched comfortably round my bump. They were a god send!

I loved Mama Spanx, not cheap but really do the job, and are thin - you're hot enough when pregnant, so don't want to add anything thick and bulky.
