Becoming very frustrated with breech baby

I'm 38 weeks and have done everything to try and turn my breech baby, but it is still head up, very painfully wedged under my ribs. I just can't understand why this is happening to me and it is beginning to make me feel very cross that baby won't move. It moves to transverse either way but then back to head-up again. I am tired and frustrated and thinking why me. I was excited about the birth but since realising baby was breech I can't get excited because there's no way it could just 'happen'. If baby would go head down I could start getting excited about labour. This is my second DC and first was traumatic vaginal birth. Why are things going wrong for me again?

I totally understand as until a few weeks ago I was in the same fustrated, upset and negative state.

I had a traumatic first labour and was really hoping for a better experience this time- and that meant also avoiding a c aec at all costs too as had always been my big fear.

I took pulsatilla tablets ( homeopathetic remedy) and spinning babies positions to try to get him to move and luckily he did.

There maybe a reason he can't turn ( cord for example) and so please don't think its you. Whatever happens is out of your control and although I totally understand how you feel- try to take the view point ' what will be will be' or you'll end up making yourself crazy wth worry and upset.

At the end of the day the most importnat thing is that baby arrived safely for you and them and that they are happy and healthy.

I can understand how fustrated you must be and I'm sorry you're experiencing this. My baby was breech right up until the night before my 36+2 week growth scan. They started talking about ECV and c sections which scared the life out of me because I'm all for vaginal births. I had a terrible time with my previous birth of my DS, I was induced and highly intervened with. Although I am high risk based on my first pregnancy being a 25 week in utero death due to severe preeclampsia and second pregnancy my son was off the chart for growth, I had Group B Strep and ended up with ventouse. I'm now having a home birth for my third because this pregnancy and baby are healthy.

I am assuming you have tried all the obvious stuff of repositioning and elevating hips etc. there's a site called spinning babies which has everything to do with position of babies and techniques. Lots of people rave about the site. I came so close to booking moxibustion with an acupuncturist. She quoted me £25 for a half hour session to show me how to burn a cigar shaped wrapped up herb near my lil toes twice a day for 10 days, apparently it has an 80% success rate, I was willing to try anything before an ECV, but I'm lucky it didn't come to that. Have you had an ECV or been booked for one?

On a slighter more positive note I was told that only 3-4% of babies are actually born breech and some babies have been known to turn right before labour as part of them "getting ready and into position"

A few other tips too not sure if you have tried already but ones I did

Bag of frozen peas/veg over the top of your stomach, apparently helps baby turn.

Peppermint pure essential oil (diluted with a base massage oil such as sweet almond or Grapeseed) rub daily over the top of your bump. Can pick these items up from any health stores such as Holland or Barrett

The moxibustion as I suggested, a good acupuncturist would send you home with the herb sticks and instructions, although I nearly tried this I assume the further along you are the lower the success but I suppose anything is worth a try.

Not trying to get your hopes up too much but its worth also remembering subsequent babies are more likely to be breech for longer into the pregnancy due to having more room in the womb.

The rib pain is keeping me awake all night! No one seems to understand... even my DH tries to comfort me by putting his arm around me - this makes bump hurt even more!! Feel such a misery.
