Hiii I'm expecting my second and what I really would love is a co-sleeper cot like the bednest but I want one that lasts beyond 6 months, any ideas? Thanks!

I just adapted a normal cot. Goggle side car cot

mitty13 · 26/03/2015 17:22

I've bought chicco next to me, haven't found one beyond 6 months as most parents choose to put baby in cot in own room then

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 26/03/2015 17:31

Ours is a cossatto I think. You can just take the side off an IKEA and cable tie it to the bed though.

Grainwhole · 26/03/2015 18:04

'Troll' I seem to remember do such a thing?

ShoeShooChoux · 26/03/2015 22:41

Normal cotbed with the side down here too. If you get one with a few different mattress height options you'll likely find that it fits to the height of your bed. Previous dc were in it beyond 6 months.

Not sure if you can get them past 6 months - the baby starts rolling/moving around that time, so not much point!
I had a Babybay for the first 6 months, and after that we just put a normal cot with the side down right next to my side of the bed - it worked great as the half-side down stopped him from rolling onto the main bed, but he could still just as easily be scooped out in the middle of the night for a feed.

Mamas and papas do a full sized bedside cot.

Milkwagon · 28/03/2015 19:21

I've got a Chicco Next 2 Me which is great. Height adjustable and packs flat for taking away overnight. The side unzips so you can also use it as a stand alone crib. Nice and long & wide. My 3.5mth LO is very long and this will see them though to six months nicely.

HazleNutt · 28/03/2015 21:02

you want this one: www.amazon.de/FabiMax-Beistellbett-BASIC-Matratze-PROTECT/dp/B00M481JF6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427576439&sr=8-1&keywords=fabimax

It's larger than most, and it also has a low 4th side that you can put up later, that will stop baby rolling out, but is still low enough so you can get them in and out easily. They deliver to UK.

We got the troll cot from mothercare. Kept it up against the bed with the side up for about 8 months then used as a normal cot and he's still in it at 2.2yrs. It's expensive so try to get it when they have it on offer but it's excellent quality and it's a lifesaver to prevent back problems (once it's used away from your bed the side slides up and over like a garage door so you never have to bend to pick up or put down).

TwiggyHeart · 28/03/2015 21:21

My 6 month old is still very comfortable in the Chicco next2me its a great buy.

Roseybee10 · 28/03/2015 23:31

We have a snuzpod. I love it at the moment but dd is only 2 months so far v

ChuckNovice · 28/03/2015 23:35

I got an IKEA one where the side came off. It went to 3 sizes and used it at the middle and added blankets under the mattress to make it perfectly level. It was about £90 i think.

Tranquilitybaby · 28/03/2015 23:51

Ive bought the Chicco next 2 me also. Just got to find some sheets to fit it now!

TwiggyHeart · 29/03/2015 03:33

Tranquil - we use big muslins (Aden and Anais) but any would do.

bradders85 · 29/03/2015 07:50

I have chicco crib too but baby not due for 5 weeks yet. I got sheets for it from eBay an shop ' cosy tots' - really pleased with quality and made to fit.

Tranquilitybaby · 29/03/2015 08:29

Ah thanks twiggy x

Tranquilitybaby · 29/03/2015 08:30

And to you too bradders.

I messaged Mothercare and they've said flat crib sheets for ok too, fitted ones are too small.
