My dd is 3.5 years and has always co-slept. She has her own bed but would rather sleep/cuddle with me. I have a kingsize with a bed guard on her size.

I'm due to give birth in coming months and baby with have a co-sleeper cot and hopefully bf.

Has anyone else co-slept with an older child and had baby in the room too? I'm thinking that babies only cry to be fed and so it shouldn't disturb dd too much, dd likes a night light so nappy changes in semi light shouldn't disturb her...

Any tips or thoughts?

No tips or thoughts but I'm the same too. Dd also 3.5. Will just go with the flow!

This was me last year. Dd1 would only sleep with me, screamed if in her own bed.
It was her third birthday a month before baby was due. We made a massive deal of dcorating her new room for her birthday. She wanted to sleep there instead. We gave her a bed with a pull out mattress underneath. She occasionally wants someone to sleep in her room but generally sleeps 7-7 in her own bed. I wouldn't have believed anyone if they had told me this last year!

I should say dd does sleep well in her own bed but wakes for cuddles in mine in the early hrs. I'm not due till Nov so loads of time for things to change but I'm not fussed either way. . Will just take it as it comes.

I have the same issue. I have a 16 month old and am due to have baby number 3 in 17 days Grin Little one is teething and most nights at 3am or so wakes and we bring him in with us so we get a few more hours. I have the cot set up next to the bed for newborn so I can breast feed. Just have a normal double bed so things are going to get a bit tight...I guess I will have to see how things pan out..

I'm due in just over 6 weeks and have a 19 month old who comes in and out of bed with me and my partner regularly throughout the night Im having to keep putting her back in her bed but did find that attaching her toddler bed to ours help with space and she's now in her own room and hardly comes in with us its what ever helps you all to get sleep
Xx

Me too, DD is 20 months and I'm due in August. There's no way she'll be ready to move out by then so going to get a co-sleeper cot and kick DH out for a bit! She still bfs to sleep and through the night so I can imagine that I'll be spending all night feeding one or the other...

19m old and (also) due in August. DD1 was nearly 3 and would co-sleep part of the night. That changed quickly when DD2 was born and was in a bednest with us! She decided one night fairly early on that her own bed was the lesser of two evils!
Not sure what to do this time. DD2 is only recently night weaned and doesn't sleep through.
