Hello all, I would be grateful for some advice.

I took a clearblue digital pregnancy test Sunday morning and it was positive. I was over the moon but thought i'd just check and used a sainsburys read your own results jobbie on Sunday evening. Sadly it was a negative. Thought I try one this morning and i used the digital clearblue one and it was negative. I am totally confused as to why i got that postive on Sunday morning.

I went to my doctors this morning and he didn't really say alot apart from wait a week to see if af arrives and if not to take a urine sample to the surgery, then I'll get my results back from the lab two weeks after that.

So i am feeling very low as i desperately want a baby and was so happy when i got the positive result.

Today i feel very drained and so scared to go to the loo in case af arrives. I feel like i have a very mild ache in lower tummy area but this could all be in the mind. I need to buck up my ideas!

Please can i have your advice as to what my body may be telling me???

Thanks for listening. xx

Thank you, I really need some advice right now. So do you think I've lost this one?

Thanks xx

This is quite common but most women aren't even aware of it. Did you take the test very early?

endlesslove · 30/10/2006 15:34

Yes I took the test early, I am normally between 28 and 35 day cycles so am not the most regular! I was CD27 on Sunday when i did the first tests. Although according to OPKs i did ovulate a few days earlier this month.

well i wouldent like to say you have lost it, i think think that some tests give false readings just so you buy another however was the test a strong pos+

p.s, i brought the deal from boots you get two clear blue digital and one normal and guess what!!!!!!!the two digital said not preg and the normal said +pos

endlesslove · 30/10/2006 15:40

The test was a digital so defo said "PREGNANT" in the window. I just want to know one way or another so i can get concentrating on the pregnancy if i am pregnant or ttc next month if i am not.

its such a drag.

Thanks for posting, all the advice is what i need and that is honesty. xx

I had 3 digital tests - 2 said neg and one said pos....my dd2 is now 21mths! As the others have said - wait a few days and do it all again - good luckxx

madmarchscare · 30/10/2006 15:47

I would be inclined to say that you are less likely to be pregnant.

nikie1 · 30/10/2006 15:51

well if it said pregnant i would take it as you are i would wait a few days and test again

p.s, i know it's hard but i'm sure you will get the result i did i hope you do anyway,,try a first responce they are really good

lulumama · 30/10/2006 15:57

if you tested early and then got two negatives..inclined to say might not be pregnant....with irregular cycles..it is hard to know when to test for the most accurate result. you would need to leave around 2 weeks from the time of ovulation before you test

what is CD27 -

sorry ..not much help........

lulumama · 30/10/2006 15:58

and don;t keep testing...leave it a week.....it is hard but you need time fro your body to either establish the pregnancy and release the right hormones to show up in the test or for your AF to start

have you been TTC long?

Ilovemyboy · 30/10/2006 16:15

Don't want to get your hopes up but you are more likely to get false-negatives than a false-positive - esp with a digital one.

Have a look at this website www.peeonastick.com

If I were you (but I am an impatient nightmare) I would go and get another test - I found First Response Early were better than Clearblue Early but only because they showed the result clearer.

The sensible thing to do however is wait and see if AF rears her ugly head.

Best of luck to you.

Ilovemyboy · 30/10/2006 16:18

Also, what CD did you get +OPK?

cath28 · 30/10/2006 20:57

time will tell, one way or the other; if it's meant to be right now it will be.. maybe try and adopt that attitude? i don't know, easier said than done obviously ! once when i thought i was pregnant and really didn't want to be i had a blood test done to measure a hormone level and got the result almost straight away, same day - it was done privately but was worth it, much more reliable than the urine tests imo .. i really feel for you, hope you're ok

endlesslove · 31/10/2006 09:37

Thanks everyone for your advice. Just feel so in the unknown and that is the part that really gets me down. In answer to your queries they are following:

3sEnough - did you get your postive result first?

Are read your own pregnancy tests more accurate than the digital tests?

I have been ttc for 4 cycles now.

I got my +OPK on CD19.

Please keep posting me advice. I will be honest and did a pregnancy test this morning and it showed up NOT PREGNANT on the screen.

I don't think I'll test until Friday now if AF has not arrived by then. Its money being wasted. I do feel like I am going to have Mrs AF arriving any second though.

Thanks so much again for all your advice, its much appreciated.

I would say the digital ones are more accurate because you don't get any tidemarks or faint lines but they don't work as early as the other ones.

If you ov on cd19 then you got the BFP at 8dpo. That seems a little early to get a result (although I got a v.faint positive with an ultra-early test at 9dpo). I didn't think digital tests would work at 8dpo??? I think you have to wait until you are at least 12dpo for them to work.

I would wait until you are 12/13dpo then test again with a digital one.

Hope you get another BFP.

3sEnough · 02/11/2006 14:13

Hi - no, it was the third one but about 12 hours after the first two so it may well have just been a natural increase in hormone level. That's really strange to get a positive and then just negs - honestly - how are we supposed to live with things like that on our minds! Good luck lovey.
