Hi Im 9 weeks pregnant today and had been feeling sick from 5/6 weeks and just this last week it has tapered off ( felt less sick everyday) I suffered a missed miscarriage 2 years ago and I went to the hospital as I didn't 'feel pregnant' at 10 weeks had an internal was told everything was fine only to go to a 12 week scan and be told that baby had died at 8/9 weeks. I've got my 12 week scan on the 17th April but I've just got an awful feeling. Had a private scan at 7+4 days, saw baby and heartbeat and heard heartbeat. I feel so worried now though

Also I've just phoned the early pregnancy unit and told them about my situation and they've said there's nothing they can do to help me ive just got to see it through which has really upset me to be honest as I feel it's wrong that you have to go through 3 miscarriages before anybody gives a dam

Im sorry you're feeling like this. Maybe you could get a private scan to put your mind at rest?

Isn't there a point at which it suddenly improves because of the placenta taking over? I had hyperemesis so never had a let up from the puking but everyone I know who was normal had the sickness wear off 9-12 weeks.

Sorry you're having to go through it, the first 12 weeks are stressful in any event but even more so with your history.

If you can afford it I would just pay for another private scan. Frankly £80ish is a bargain for your peace of mind.

Thanks for the support ladies! I've decided to book a scan privately as I agree it's a small price to pay for peace of mind! Appreciate the comments about the nausea subsiding 9-12 weeks that's good to know! X

I was very queasy until almost exactly 12 weeks

Surely good news (in these circumstances) that you feel sick? Flowers

Hi morgan I've had three mcs so totally know how you are feeling. I also have 4 children and it is really normal for morning sickness to get better around 9/10 weeks as pp said it's when the placenta takes over.
Ime around 9 weeks I started to have the odd day where I had no sickness gradually these days increased until it went completely.

In your situation I would do what you have and have a private scan. The fact you have already seen your baby's heartbeat is brilliant as the chances of mc massively decrease once a heartbeat has been seen.

Good luck and I'm sorry you've started to feel sick again (but kind of not too!) :)

MorgansMummy24 · 24/03/2015 20:20

I can handle sickness because you generally feel some relief afterwards, it's the all day constant nausea that I cant stand, that feeling of being of seasickness. I Iid buy some lollipops called pregggie pops which surprisingly did take the edge off! Flowers

Thank you Buttwing Flowers I have read some miscarriage statistics so I'm thinking if I have a scan around this time the chances of a miscarriage after I see a heartbeat is quite slim? I've attached my scan photo where you can see the heartbeat readings at the bottom :)
