Looks like a line, did you test early?

Lynsey212120 · 24/03/2015 04:27

Hi there Lynsey212120 - we're just going to pop this in a more appropriate topic for you to get the best response.

I can see a line. Did this come up within the time frame the test tells you to use or only later?
Fingers crossed it continues to get darker over the next few days

Lynsey212120 · 24/03/2015 11:11

I'm still testing early yet,but that came up as that, and I did another yesterday and there wasn't a line ?? ????

As you are testing really early only test using the first wee of the day as it is more concentrated. Despite what the adverts tell you, even tests that say they can be used several days before you are due are only about 75% reliable (depends on the brand) compared to 99% reliable if you can wait until you are due/late. Unfortunately you've got a long few days ahead when you won't know for sure and if you can step away from the tests and try to forget about it that will help (says she who couldn't do this if she had seen that line but who deliberately would never test early as she couldn't handle the stress!)

Almost....wait a week and do another, first thing in the morning with your really strong hormone-full wee.

MorgansMummy24 · 25/03/2015 11:17

Clear blue tests will tell you digitally if you are pregnant and how far gone you are

GoooRooo · 25/03/2015 11:22

Looks like a line to me! Congratulations!

Just a warning about Clearblue tests - they are not as sensitive as other tests so might come up negative at this point so you might need to wait a bit to try one.

MorgansMummy24 · 25/03/2015 11:24

They work the same as any other home pregnancy test by testing the level of pregnancy hormone. If there's a faint line on the test which I think I can see, the clear blue is highly likely to pick up the hormone aswell

They do work the same, but they need a higher level of hormone to detect the pregnancy. Clearblue nears 50mui, First response need a lower level of hormone - 6.5mui I think.

So a First Response test will detect a pregnancy quicker than a Clearblue one.
