This sounds just like me at the moment, 21 wks with number 2 and on my left side.
Found my old support belt and that's helped a bit, also making sure I don't roll onto my back at night by using pillows or that seems to make it worse the next day.
Had issues with SPD and back pain with my first but this has got painful much ealier on.
Try to move about often and not get stuck sitting for long periods to keep from stiffening and if your office based get a good back support that attaches to your chair to keep you from slouching down.
Hope you find something that helps.

Thanks for the advice, feels as though its a trapped nerve. will have to try using a pillow for comfort at night. Have already spoken to doctor about using deep heat which wasnt recommended so have been using a hot water bottle. Thanks again

For sports strains I find using a mix of heat and then cold alternativly can help, the heat will relax the area and then the cold gets the blood flowing to the area which helps healing, maybe give that a try.

Putting a pillow inbetween your legs will stop the leg over rotating inwards at the hip as well, as well as putting behind your back so you don't roll over.

Support belt seemed to help me with this, but I am also deeply and meaningfully in love with the maternity pillow my other half got me for comfortable sleep.

Sorry to hear you are in pain, backache is so bloody debilitating because you are uncomfortable whatever you do :(

I echo the hot and cold - my friend swore by a hot water bottle and then frozen peas, as they sort of mould to the area, if that helps at a all.

Siani I am thinking about getting one of those - do you know what brand/where he got it from, if you think it's a good one?? Thanks!

It's a Nexcare one, I think. No frame if reference to tell if it's good as I'd never thought of getting one before, but it seems to do the trick!

Oh, or do you mean the pills? That's the Sangol one on Amazon. Bloody brilliant thing.

Use a hot water bottle where possible I even took 1 to work and walked around with it tucked in the back of my trousers
