My sil is 39 weeks pregnant with her first child. She has suffered the most awful two years, finding out she had major fertility problems just 10 weeks after her wedding. In an appointment with her consultant today, she was told they wanted to do an immediate c section, but have been unable to book her in until Wed. The baby isn't moving much but has a strong heartbeat and is slightly smaller than expected. I think the experts are just erring on the side of caution but I know how desperatly she and her DH want this baby and the next few days will be torture for them until they know their little one is here safely. Please, please include her in your prayers, or good wishes. Thanks.

Prayers from me. Sounds like the docs are just being ultra-cautious.

Heaps of vibes
Really hope that all goes well for them. I have heard that a lot of babies quieten down before labour - it could well be baby reserving her energy!!

Fingers crossed for Wednesday

Sending lots of positives your way. It is true they do reckon baby can quieten down before labour. It may even happen before wednesday! After all she is Full term.

Good luck though.

big lovely thoughts for her and her baby

StrawberryMoon · 30/10/2006 19:50

BTW baby prob 'wont' move too much at 39 weeks as not much space left

lulumama · 30/10/2006 19:53

fingers and everything crossed...and yes...babies don;t have the room to move as much at the end....a good strong heartbeat is excellent news.....slightly smaller than expected is nothing to be concerned about....39 + is not too early ....should be a wonderful & happy outcome for all......
