Helish · 23/03/2015 19:58

Congratulations. I have 9 month old twins and a 3 year old, the first few months were hard work but they're starting to play with each other and it's lovely to see the little gang they're forming.

farmlass · 23/03/2015 20:02

NinjaPanda34 · 23/03/2015 20:08

Congrats!! I'm currently cuddling our 7 week old twin boys. It was a shock for us too! Good luck! Oh and start fining people £1 for every time someone says "double trouble" or other twin cliche!

yourlovealoneisnotenough · 23/03/2015 20:16

Congratulations! Flowers

I have three year old twins. When I found out all I could do was laugh with borderline hysteria. The first thing DH said was "We need to get a bigger car"

Paintedpinksapphires · 23/03/2015 20:18

Twins are fab. Get yourself to your local twins club ASAP. They are mines of useful info and support.

soontobemummyof2 · 23/03/2015 21:05

yourlovealoneisnotenough · 23/03/2015 22:43

Grin Be prepared for the search for a car with appropriate boot space for a double buggy to take over your life for a while!

mandy214 · 23/03/2015 22:53

Congratulations! Agree you need to find your local twins club. Loved mine.

You will be a member of a very special club. You might want to cancel your membership most days for a while but the first time you hear them giggling on some joke that you're not part of your heart will melt. And you'll never get round a supermarket for years without someone telling you how lucky you are!!

Hard work but amazing Smile

soontobemummyof2 · 24/03/2015 07:14

What a is a twins club? And where will I find details of my nearest one?

Just out of curiosity how many weeks were you when you gave birth? Was it natural or a section?

A twins club is basically a baby / toddler group for mums/parents of twins (and multiples) or parents to be of twins. They are generally brilliant because they usually have masses of helpers / volunteers (so lots of offers of help / holding one baby so you at least have one hand free to have a coffee) and lots of other twin parents for support / give tips / just generally feel your pain Wink because they've been through it.

Have a look at TAMBA's website. They have a list of clubs, but I would also ask your local Children's Services / Library etc if you have one locally.

OP, you are me exactly 1 year ago.

I'm now a mum to three under 2.5 and it is amaizing (but hard work)

Look after yourself and enjoy every moment.

DayLillie · 24/03/2015 10:06

I burst out in tears when I found out I was having twins. It was my idea of hell. I had a 2.5 year gap with DS. I wasn't that sure I wanted one more child, never mind two. I had seen a friend with twins and could not see how I could cope.

It was hard work, and you have to be organised. They are 21 this week and the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me Grin.

I met a lovely old lady who had two sets of twins and one single - 5 under 5 Shock. Her father felt sorry for her and bought her a washing machine (twin tub) after the second set came along, for all the nappies. She said you manage Wink
