Maternity pay

Hi, I've just found out that I'm expecting a baby with an EDD of 24th November.

Can anybody tell me when the qualifying period would be for maternity pay?

I'm hoping for a planned c section due to a complicated previous birth. Would the c section date count as my due date? I think they usually do them at 39 weeks?

Thanks in advance!!

No, your EDD is your EDD, not the section date. Don't know about your maternity pay, does your employer have a staff handbook laying out their maternity policy?

Congratulations! What Tiny says is correct, your due date has nothing to do with when you actually have the baby.
Qualifying weeks are usually around week 17-25 but depends on your employer and how often / when you get paid. Does your pay vary a lot? If you're on a salary it won't really matter

I think the qualifying period for you would be Sat 6th June to Sat 15th August.

I'm on a salary and get paid monthly.
However I'm currently part time and want to go back full time in time to get my full maternity pay.

Then I would think you need to be paid at your full time rate for June and July paydays if you get paid at the end of the month.

I've just found the staff handbook and the qualifying week is the 15th week before confinement. I take it confinement means due date in this instance?
