I've been trying to get hold of NHS direct for the last half hour with no success. My niece has just come out in chicken pox today and I've been around her quite a lot as she's not complained of feeling unwell or anythng. They've come without warning I'm 25 weeks pregnant with twins. Do I need to be seen? I have had them before.

No you don't need to be seen. Having had the virus yourself before you should be fine

fattymcfatfat · 22/03/2015 11:21

I think you are probably fine but they may need to check anyway. don't panic just have a Brew and phone again im ten minutes.
I remember feeling this way when my friends DD had slapped cheek.

I think if you've had them before you should be ok, but I'd still double check with someone in the know to be sure.

Don't panic. You don't need to do anything or worry. Speak to the GP if you get a rash (v unlikely).

The concern is if you haven't already had chicken pox,

As an aside, in any situation like this, googling NHS and then the issue normally brings up their fact sheet.

It can be enormously reassuring to get an answer fast. Smile

My son and husband have both had cp since I've been pregnant. I had it as a child so my gp wasn't concerned. He did run a blood test to check for immunity which I had

OK thank you for the replies. Just a little worry! I'll read up about it.
