Im only about 8 weeks and im so out of puff. Im generally quite fit. What is this? Its quite embarassing and i feel about 90. I am an older mother but wasnt expecting this. Could it be preg related?

Anaemia maybe? I remember feeling as though I'd run a marathon when I'd just walked up a short hill. Probably later on than eight weeks though. But I know my anaemia definitely made me breathless.

Hmm ive not had blood tests yet so maybe.
I was running about twice a week and i walk everywhere so this seems really weird.

Pregnancy related Asthma is is one to ask your GP about if this has been going on for a few days. It can come on for anyone in pregnancy and can disapear during or after. Polution levels have been exceptionally high in the last few days in some areas and this has an adverse effect on some asthmatics.

I needed a dose of inhalers and steroids in my third pregnancy out the blue. The good news was that once I'd been on the nebuliser (full blown asthma attack) I felt fine and had my lungs back.

Yes it's because progesterone makes your body use oxygen differently so you're breathing deeper. I'm 13+2 and it's driving me mad!

Yep, I'm 10 +3 and on the way back from the school run there's a short and not very steep hill. I am pushing a stroller up there every day and can't do it while speaking, one day I had to stop for a breather. It's normal, although it does make me feel like I'm getting too old for this pregnancy nonsense. It is hard going in the early days, hopefully it won't be for much longer though.

Its to do with extra blood volume and hormones - very normal and annoying!
