Awful mouth taste

Am 7 weeks and very sick. On top of this I have an awful taste in my mouth all day long. Anyone have any tips on getting rid or masking it? This is my second child and cannot remember this awful taste!
Thanks

Same as that! My first pregnancy was nothing like this one! I too have a vile taste in my mouth and I think it makes my nausea worse! Try keeping some spearmint gum or any general mint really to keep your mouth fresh and maybe even carry a toothbrush and toothpaste hehe

Hi, yes I had this up until about 16 wks and can't remember it to the same extent when I had my first.
I found anything salty made it worse as well as chocolate, but didn't really find anything in particular that masked it, just what to aviod.

Hope it settles down soon or you find something that helps

Yes, it definitely makes the sickness worse. Sorry for the TMI but it also makes me a extra spitty in my mouth. Gum makes this worse too.
The only thing I'm managing at the moment is prawn cocktail skips but the taste comes back after each one.
If I eat these constantly for 8 months I'll need to be airlifted to the labour ward!!

Sound like my mouth right now, producing so much saliva it's unreal! I'm living on lemon sherbets, lift lemon tea and arrow root biscuits! I'm finding its getting worse as the weeks are going on aswell I'm 8+2! I'd actually rather be sick than have this relentless seasick feeling all bloody day! Boo early pregnancy sucks

Suck extra strong mints.

WillowB · 19/03/2015 18:54

I second extra strong mints or boiled sweets. I can't bear tea or coffee as I find they make it worse

thesmallbear · 19/03/2015 18:58

I'm afraid I still have this at 25 weeks. I find sucking on Chupa Chup lollipops helps.

Apparently it can be a sign of anaemia so try taking some iron?

Littlemissjt · 19/03/2015 19:33

Fruity chewy sweets helped me. Skittles, star bursts and chewits got me through the first few weeks!

willnotbetamed · 19/03/2015 19:43

I have it too - at 20 weeks. This is my third child and I didn't have it at all in the other two pregnancies. It gets worse in the evening usually. Really irritating!

lovelyredwine · 19/03/2015 19:47

I've had it too- currently 13 weeks with my second. Didn't get it with my first so it was a new hideous experience. I find sucking pear drops helps for a bit as well as chewing fruity rather than minty gum.
