Growth Scan at 37 weeks

My midwife came and did a home visit today at 37+1.

After measuring completely perfectly at every previous visit I am now measuring smaller than my last visit. (Measuring 34 today) I've also had a lot of issues with low blood pressure recently and have fainted twice(not that anyone was concerned about this until today).

I've been referred for a growth scan tomorrow morning and have been told that it could just be that the baby is fully engaged so measuring small or that its something more serious and I could be looking at being induced or worst case scenario an emergency c section.

Now midwife has gone and I've had time to process all of this I'm starting to worry more and more that something is wrong even though I have no other symptoms and movement pattern is normal.

Anyone have any experience of this or advice to give?

Hi op. I was referred for growth scans throughout my pregnancy on 3 separate occasions, the last one being at 37 weeks because I was also measuring small. The scans showed that she was absolutely fine. They are much more accurate than the measuring tape and in my case I think it was all to do with how I was carrying and how dd was lying.

I hope your scan goes well and puts your mind at rest. At least you get to see your little one again Smile

Thank you. I'm trying not to worry about it as much as possible. I am however looking forward to seeing my little girl again! Smile

I was measuring small too and had growth scan and all fine. Was told I'd have a 5/6lb max baby and he came out 40+2 (only just as was 4.25am) and was 8lb 13! It's just precautionary :)

I was 27cm one week, 28cm 3 weeks later and then 34cm 2 weeks after that

I wouldn't worry about it at all

I measured correctly all the way through up until the end I never measured past 35 weeks. I had a scan at 38 wks baby measured approx 7lb I had him at 39+2 and he weighed 7lb 4oz. Don't worry to much about it it could be the way the baby is lying and how engaged it is.

Been for the scan this morning. Luckily yesterday was just an anomaly and everything is fine. Baby is very deep in my pelvis and has dropped significantly making measuring more difficult but estimated at 7lbs.
Feeling much happier now.

Thanks for the reassurance. Smile
