I'm 38 weeks today so it's nearly over thankfully .

My problem is I'm really struggling to breathe , no matter what I'm doing sat down/laid down or stood up I just can't regulate my breathing at all .

I know it's because of how baby is laid but its just gotten worse , I mentioned it to my midwife and she just laughed at me which was really helpful Hmm

Also my knickers are constantly wet not damp but wet and have been for the past fortnight , I have to change them throughout the day , no mucus loss or anything of the sort they are just wet and it doesn't smell like urine either .

Im not going to ring my midwife as she will no t give me any advice or help she will just tell me to ring the hospital and that seems rather stupid to ring them for advice Blush

So do I just grin and bare it for the next 2-4 weeks or not ???

if your waters are leaking I think you need to get checked out. This was 8yrs ago but mine leaked so I had to be visit the ante-natal ward every other day to be monitored.

my dc's wedged themselves in my lungs too. nothing you can do about it, it's bliss when they're born though and you can take huge lungfulls of air again.

fattymcfatfat · 15/03/2015 22:41

you need to be checked. so would definitely phone hospital.

Apologies for what I am about to say... It's really hard on the Internet to work out if someone is being a drama lama or its serious. When you say you can't regulate breathing are you panting or just not able to get a deep breath. It seems an odd turn or phrase. Have you any chest pain?

hodgepodgepanda · 15/03/2015 22:50

Sorry for the way I phrased it ( I have an asthmatic Ds)

I can only take lots of short and sharp little breaths and if I start to move about I can't catch my breath at all , I wish I were just been a drama Lama

That sounds horrible hodge. I hope you get a bit of sleep and get sorted tomorrow.

RhiannonElward · 15/03/2015 22:59

Yes I'd go and get a check up tomorrow, but sooner if you're getting worse. Is your baby engaged? If so then you should be breathing a little easier than before. How are your iron levels? Anaemia can cause breathlessness, so it might not just be the position of the baby, and definitely worth looking into.

hodgepodgepanda · 15/03/2015 23:07

Nope he isn't engaged , still happily swimming about & kicking like mad .

I'm not Anemic as already been tested

I think you should be checked urgently, tbh. If your waters have been leaking for a fortnight you need looking at now!

hodgepodgepanda · 15/03/2015 23:16

I have no way of getting their tonight so it will have to be first thing when Dp gets home

Id ring the hospital for their advice. This is quite a normal thing to do towards the end of pregnancy, although I'd have been as reluctant as you with my first. They won't mind, honestly.
It's worth having a chat with them. Your midwife sounds awful, btw.

hodgepodgepanda · 15/03/2015 23:34

She is beyond awful , just wants to tick all the necessary boxes and do nothing else .

Im going to try n get some sleep and will ring the hospital when I wake up , Thanks
