Coffee question

This is probably one with a pretty obvious answer given all of the advice out there - but I'm wondering if most of you are giving up caffeine altogether in pregnancy or drinking in small amounts? I've not touched a drop until now at 21wks but I think I'm going to have to crack. I don't miss booze, blue cheese or anything but caffeine... There are days I can barely stay awake.

Bloody hell, look at the wide range of values for instant coffee.

I've been having a cup of coffee every morning since I was 15 and haven't stopped for any pregnancy. I'm 20w and still having 1-2 standard cups a day. I surprisingly haven't touched a drop of alcohol since I got my bfp in November. I thought I would've caved in to a small glass of crisp white wine drooling away here

I am 10 weeks and drink coffee every day, I have cut down a little - one of my 2 cups every morning is now decaf. I hardly drink coke (used to have a bad habit but quit a couple of years ago due to the sugar) but I do have the occasional one. I believe everything in moderation, obviously I'm not talking about drugs or smoking but I've had 3 drinks since finding out I was pregnant (no more than one glass at a time however) and am not planning to cut my caffeine intake any further.

But each to their own and I know some people prefer to go totally cold turkey on anything remotely toxic. I'm just not one of them!

I was a big coffee drinker pre-pregnancy and it has been driving me fucking mad. I stopped drinking alcohol a long long time ago, personal choice and barely drank anyway but being pregnant has had me hankering for wine haha, but i've got a pretty good hold on my self will and haven't gone near any. Coffee however, omg i cannot cope!
I've had a starbucks about once a month since i was 5 months to tie me over. I just get ratty. I've had a pretty craving-free pregnancy and this seems to be the only thing that i itch for tbh.
The only reason i wanted to avoid caffiene/coffee entirely was because i prefer it black and, because i had a miscarriage prior to this pregnancy.

But i've three weeks till me little sprocket is here and its done him zero harm _

I didn't drink coffee whilst pregnant as the smell made me feel sick, but I did have one can of diet coke a day.

Make sure you drink extra water if you do have a coffee, remember if caffeine speeds up your heart rate it also speeds up baby's so don't drink too much for of it!

DS is now 15 months and I'm back to my 4 cups a day habit Smile

Crikey! I saw my baby's heartbeat. If that wee soul goes any faster it will explode!

My midwife told me you can have three cups of tea or coffee (including Starbucks/Costa etc.. coffee, but just make sure they do single shots not doubles) per day. I tend to have one cup of black coffee in the morning (after abstaining until about 17 weeks), more in an attempt to keep constipation at bay than anything else, then drink decaf tea after that.

I still have two cups of tea per day usually. I don't drink coke or coffee so I figure my intake isn't too high.
