I'm 6 weeks pregnant (with my 1st) and vaguely nauseous sometimes but not anywhere near what I was expecting. I read that vegetarians get less morning sickness. Anyone else heard that? I've got a bad tummy instead. Is anyone else around 6-7 weeks with no morning sickness? Any other vegetarians about?

The only one of my 6 pregnancies that I had nausea with was the one that ended in miscarriage at 13 weeks. The only symptoms I had in the other 5 were sore breasts, tiredness and heartburn.

My first pregnancy (boy) I had horrendous morning sickness and had time off work, leaping off public transport etc. It started very early, around 4/5 weeks and went on until 20 weeks.

2nd pregnancy, but only 7 weeks and nothing much so far.

No morning sickness here. Sensative to smells, sore boobs. Very hungry with my first, i was an underfed 19 yr old before though. No eating disorder, just a very broke student.

I got none really from four pregnancies. Not everyone does.

Sojii - I've been vvv paranoid as well due to lack of morning sickness and symptoms-have my 12 week scan this week so hopefully it will put my mind at rest.

Hi all...first post!
This is my first pregnancy and I have been WAITING for the morning sickness to start! Just 5+1 at the moment though, so plenty of time yet. Can't stop reading things that tell me morning sickness is a 'healthy sign' but there's no scientific proof that it's 'essential' for a healthy pregnancy so I'm trying not to think about it too much. And enjoying my food in the meantime of course (CONSTANTLY HUNGRY) xxx

I heard that if you have a girl morning sickness is more likely.
I never heard that vegetarians get it less.
I don't think it's necessarily a good sign either, though normal.

I got no morning sickness whatsoever. I didn't even go off any foods, or ever feel nauseous.

I am vegetarian and had a boy.

No morning sickness or nausea at all when I was pregnant. I'm a carnivore, had a baby girl, and my mum had it really badly with all three pregnancies.

Longdistance · 15/03/2015 10:36

I had nausea, and lost my appetite. However, I'm not veggie, but had nausea in both pregnancies. Although, in the third trimester I had the worst heartburn and reflux. Both mine had loads of hair, and this was making me feel like I was gonna cough up fur balls :)

Hi Sojii, another vegetarian here and am currently 6+1. My morning sickness just kicked in properly yesterday, with my first think I had it for max 4 weeks? Not heard the veggie = no ms thing. Plenty of good info out there though on great nutrition for pregnancy for vegetarians

Heartburn has nothing to do with the amount of hair on a babies head its caused by hormonal changes on the digestive system and the womb growing pushing up on the stomach.
