Hello
hope I'm in the right place. I'm new to mumsnet. I am having a Tac operation next week (due to damaged cervix and previous premature birth). I am having it pre pregnancy. Can anyone point me in the direction for recent threads or support groups? Thank you!

In the anti natal clubs there is a short cervix club thread. I'm getting tested next week to find out if I need a stitch or not.

Sorry to hear about your previous premature birth Flowers. You could try posting something similar in the Premature Birth section (link below), as there'll probably be some posters there with experiences of cervix problems and cerclage (I had my baby very early, but it most likely wasn't cervix-related, so I can't help on the technical side):

Hello,

I'm new to mums net. For 3 days I suffered the worst pain ever from fibroid degeneration. At guest I thought it was bad gas but after 1 day and sleepless night I went to go who prescribed paracetamol and codeine. The pain was more bearable but still horrible. Yesterday (day 3 of pain), I went to hospital and they did internal and scan and baby was fine but they told me that the acute pain from the fibroid degeneration was causing contractions that have now shortened my cervix to only 1.6mm. This means I have an increased risk of miscarriage. They said if the contractions don't stop there's nothing they can do. That was yesterday and today the pain hAs practically gone a bit achy. I'm 16 weeks and 42 it's my first pregnancy. I can't stop crying but trying to be strong and think I might still be able to hold on to my baby. I've got an appointment at cervix place Monday morning. Anyone been through anything similar or any advice. Thanks
