Where to buy maternity clothes

Hi, I'm in desperate need of some decent maternity clothes, especially some comfy jeans. I'm short, 5 ft 2, so they would need to be petite. I'd prefer to try the clothes on in a store rather than order them online, can anyone tell me which shops sell them in-store?

Many thanks, Sarah

New Look, H&M, Debenhams (Red Herring) and Mothercare are the only ones I've found with clothes in store. I think Topshop also, but depends on the size of the store. Next, M&S were only online. There's really limited choice to actually try clothes on which is really annoying, particularly for things like jeans & trousers. Good luck!

If you can find a jojo maman bebe near you they have stuff in store. Otherwise debenhams was the only one with a decent range in store for me

I'm about the same height and I've found mothercare jeans really comfy. I've got an under the bump pair and an over the bump pair. The under the bump ones are great for at home but can't really wear them if I'm going out as I'd be too self conscious they were falling down - I may just be paranoid though! Their joggy bottoms are ridiculously comfy too.

Destination maternity have a great petite range. Today I have been wearing the Jessica simpson petite jeans and they are only a tad too long (and I am just under 5 foot) I'm based in the middle east so I am unsure if destination maternity has shops in the uk.

Lots of shops don't have their range in store. I bought a couple of Dorothy Perkins maternity dresses and tunics on line which were very good value and looked nice. I also bought mat leggings from Verboudet which were sooooooo comfy.

Seraphine has 3 stores in a London (if you're london based). I'm not sure though if they make any petite sizes. I found plenty of clothes there. Also, John Lewis has maternity clothes section. Are you sure you don't want to try ordering online? I got my most comfy jeans from Asos. They deliver, you try at home and send back for free whatever doesn't fit. They even have an option to pick up your package so you don't have to go to post office.

Ah, the elusive petite maternity clothes...

I had a pair of what were supposed to be slightly cropped cigarette pants from Seraphine which sat well on me (5'1), and a pair of Topshop Baxter maternity jeans that I lived in. A few dresses for work - I liked Dorothy Perkins the best - and a few jersey skirts.

Tops I got from H&M, Debenhams, Peacocks and New Look, nothing expensive.

I barely found any clothes in store, bar Debenhams and H&M in central London. If you try places like Asos and Zalando they do free delivery and returns, so you can just order a lot?

most online stores will deliver to store free, then you can try them on in store.

Next do petite maternity. I'm 5ft and they are ideal. I'm not sure if you can get them in store. I order online for pick up at my local store. Then I go in the changing rooms, try everything on so I can keep what I want and take the rest back to the till. Easy peasy.

I've also found some great stuff very cheaply on e-bay. Try searching for petite in the maternity section.

Thanks so much everyone, you've given me some great suggestions. I like the idea of ordering them online and trying them on in-store.

I'm the same height and got a great pair from next. They're not petite but short length.
