is this true? does it work? I've heard it does but personally I'd miss my chocolate too much.

Eh?

teabags · 27/10/2006 23:27

I was told by a friend to cut out sugar from my diet as apparently it makes labour easier. I wondered if anyone had tried this? I'm not seriously considering it, I was just curious

Hmm
lulumama · 27/10/2006 23:30

something i read on here today about gentle birth is ringing a bell

cutting out wheat & sugar to endure the baby is the right size and the pelvis is not congested.......i think!!

eating a balanced diet, everything in moderation,,,keeping active..
yoga, pilates..etc would be good too

and cutting soemthing entirely out of your diet is very tricky....

Kidstrack · 27/10/2006 23:33

is it possible to cut out all sugar though in foods, does fruit not have natural sugar properties like raisins etc, and if you cut out all sugar does that mean sugar free foods that are replaced by Aspartame which is a sweetner and could be linked to cancer, lupus etc would be used instead, personally i would choose a sugar diet compared to Aspartame which is present in a lot of no added sugar foods, just a thought someone please correct me!!

ah that's what she said, the gentle birth method. Sounds ok in theory but I'm having a hot chocolate as I type, so I guess it's not for me

junk food junkie - 5 hours 50 mins labour

FreakyFloss · 27/10/2006 23:36

Me? Pregnant on a sugar free diet???!! Not likely. DS wasn't a bad labour. Reckon its a load of balloney myself.

Kidstrack · 27/10/2006 23:38

i honestly think it would almost be impossible to refrain from a no sugar diet, i always ate sugar foods when pregnant, think hormones crave them

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/10/2006 23:39

I craved apples and fruit juice with DD and not much else. Cant say that my labour was anything like easy.

DS I ate LOADS of snickers icecreams. Was a much better labour.

Now that is what I call science

I agree
Although it is her 1st pregnancy and she reckons she won't be having any pain relief, not even gas and air.....
