I share your pain im 30 weeks and struggle with heartburn I take the peptac which seems good cheaper version and in liquid form and carry a pack of the cheap tablet ones with me other than them theres not a lot we can do I find the full fat milk bud soothes it for a bit .
Good luck xx

I asked my GP for omeprazole and it seems to have rally helped. Recommend it x

I am with you on that one, terrible heartburn which I'm still suffering with at 37 weeks. I do find lying on my left helps. In addition to taking my vista before bed rather than after breakfast. I take Rennies orange tablets which help for a while. Likewise drinking a lot of water!

Omeprazole or ranitidine. Gaviscon didn't touch mine.

Those Tesco chewable heartburn tablets (chalky ones) or if you don't have those, mix some bicarbonate of soda in water and drink it OR drink really really hot milk. Sounds crazy but the hot milk works!

Yes I do find lying on my left helps and reduces it a bit...morning, noon and night it bothers me...I had it on my first pregnancy but not as bad as this one....although with my first it disappeared as soon as my little one was born, so I'll have to suffer on till this one appears too....thanks ladies xx

try a couple of spoonfuls of honey.

Get your GP to prescribe the Gaviscon advance as that's much better than the ones on the shelf. I had the worst heartburn with both my pregnancies, I was getting through a litre of Gaviscon a week by the end Shock

Get your gp to prescribe Omeprazole. It literally switches off the production of stomach acid.

I struggled for week with gaviscon and rennies.

Useless.

One day on Omeprazole and I was back to normal. It's a great drug!

Stop eating? God the heartburn was hateful.
Much much better when I stopped eating any fatty or processed foods like pastry or cakes. Dairy was right out and could only manage milk if it was fully skimmed..
Small healthy and frequent meals helped.

Ranitidine. A complete life saver. Available without prescription as Gavilast if you can send someone who isn't pregnant to the pharmacy to get them because I'm quite sure the pharmacist won't want to give them to you to cover their ass.
