hello ladies

just a quick one - i know that weeing more is normal, but is it normal to feel desperate to go after only a short time, even when the well is almost dry, so to speak??

i don't think it can be a UTI, not that i've ever had one to compare it to, but there is no burning or pain, and it's not always the case either - seems to come and go, and to be much worse at night. is this just things shifting around and pressing on my bladder, or should i make a dr appointment? i have a scan on saturday anyway (that's a whooooooole other world of panic and worry!), so i can ask then, but just wondered what people's experiences are??

thank you!

How far along are you?

irishamy89 · 11/03/2015 18:51

Hi! I'm still awaiting my dating scan however I am also experiencing the urge frequently with little amounts. I thought it may be just due to pregnancy however today at my Dr appointment they took a urine sample and found a tiny trace of blood (invisible!). My very helpful Dr said it could be a sign of a uti so if you're worried just request a test of your wee. :)

youlemming · 11/03/2015 18:53

yes I can go to the loo then as soon as I sit back down it feels like I need to go again!
Think it's just things getting squished, as you say usually with an infection there is something else like pain, burning or you may get a temp.
But worth mentioning next time you have an appointment.

Could have written your post. I've been 20 times today Blush (I counted). However I have a UTI. No pain, wasn't aware, but it showed up in a routine wee test. I'm 35wks. My poor friend is going five times in the night. I haven't reached that particular pinnacle yet.

hurryupandgetout · 11/03/2015 19:19

Yep I do exactly the same and pee all night and within 2 mins of having just gone. I'm 33 weeks

scarednoob · 11/03/2015 20:07

Only 9.6 - that's why I wasn't sure if anything could be squishing it just yet! Thanks ladies, will mention it to mw on sat x

This is always the first sign of a uti for me, the burning always comes later. It's probably nothing but better to get checked out I'd say.

NurseP · 12/03/2015 09:36

Please take a sample to your GP. I had a uti between Christmas and new year, about 10 weeks pregnant, had no urinary symptoms and felt fine untill the Saturday when I was practically crippled with back pain and really unwell! Please get it checked as it was awful! Best to be sure, especially with with weekend coming up- 4 hours at OOH GP was not fun!

Whatabout · 13/03/2015 08:25

Sounds like cystitis or a uti. I also find in pregnancy I develop a habit and have to try hard to break it.

2015isgoingtobeBIG · 13/03/2015 08:45

I had it in early pregnancy and it wasn't a uti but related to the increased blood flow to the pelvic area. It gradually eased and never became a uti. Now I'm nearly 30 weeks it's back again but this time it's due to the bladder being squashed.

scarednoob · 13/03/2015 11:22

it's weird because it comes and goes. yesterday i was fine all day, and then went out for dinner with work, and after one wee was sitting there in agony with pressuring/needing another, but could only squeeze out a few drops. after about 20 mins it went away, and fine all night and all today. i am sure some of it is psychosomatic, as i am EXACTLY the same with dry mouth!

if all is well at the scan on sat - EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK - i will ask the mw about both!
