Hi everyone, my first post so bare with me......did a supermarket own brand test which came up positive so decided that a much more expensive test would be a safe second go (can't believe how much the price of something sways me!). This one says 3+ weeks.......over the moon however I've been drinking quite a lot every weekend Shock now I'm really worried I may be 2 months pregnant as I can't remember my last period........seeing a nurse tomorrow but Google is the root of all evil and I've searched myself into an absolute frenzy! Any advice?

Hi Kiwi! Not a lot you can do unfortunately but change your lifestyle now you know. I also got a 3+ result a few weeks ago (still waiting on confirmation of exactly how many weeks I am!!!) and had also been drinking though not a lot. When I got the positive result I obviously stopped drinking and started adhering to all the NHS advice on what to avoid etc!

Hey :) Congratulation!!!
I had a 3+ and assumed I was literally only 3 weeks pregnant, when I had my scan I found out I was actually 4 weeks further on than I thought. I had been drinking over Christmas quite alot and eating homemade chicken liver pate too, big oops!! But honestly, it happens to lots of people and you can't change it, so don't worry yourself, I'm sure everything will be fine :) xx

Congratulations. Op I wouldn't worry too much. Even if you are four weeks the drinking probably would affect the baby. The placenta doesn't start working and supporting the baby until about 9/10 weeks. So no placenta, then no alcohol can gets through. Up until then the baby is living on the egg york.

Thank you all for your posts! Yeah I guess the best thing I can do is just move on from this point now. Interested to discover how far along I am though.......! GymBum I never knew that - you learn something new every day Grin x x

I took a test on the 11 of March it’s coming up 3+ , this means 5 weeks ? My last period was the 31st end of March , is the clear blue accurate in saying I’m 5 weeks?

R2D2abc · 22/03/2020 13:01

No. You count from last period until you have your dating scan that will confirm your dates. Clear blue weeks indicator it's just a fun thing, not something to rely on.
