20weeks stomach pains

Advice please.
I have ibs and to date I've had no problems with it in pregnancy. Yesterday I was having tightenings that weren't painful, stomach just kept going hard. I thought it was braxton hicks or baby moving and pushing up.
Woke up this morning with sore throat, headache and constant stomach ache. On right hand side lower abdominal pain.
I'm not constipated and no bleeding or trouble weeing etc.
Have a Doppler and heartbeat is ok, getting kicks but he doesn't have regular pattern yet.
Any advice appreciated.

Call your midwife for advice. Don't take any reassurance from a home doppler.

It's probably nothing, but if you're worried you should speak to a professional.

Have you had your scan?

Thank you that's what im thinking. Scan is in 9 days. Had a private scan at 16 weeks and all was fine. Just don't know if could be ligament pain/bowel/baby related. X

Do you have any fibroids?

S2b16 · 11/03/2015 13:39

Not that I've been told. The pain has gone now just the odd twinge. Waiting for midwife to phone me back but I'm assuming its more ligament or bowel pain x

I only mentioned it because 20 weeks is around the time you tend to get fibroid trouble if you have any large-ish ones, and the discomfort/pain can be mistaken for ligament pain. It is also possible they may have missed a fibroid on your 12 week scan if they weren't looking for one.

See what your midwife says and do go to your local maternity assessment centre if you feel you need to. Your midwife may suggest this anyway so you can get your urine tested and your bloods done just to check everything is okay on that front.

Thank you, I'll prob find out at my scan then.
I've spoken to midwife at the day unit, (as mine still hasn't returned calls) she wants me to put a water sample in my gp and said to go over in the morning if I was still in pain or the constant pain comes back, thank you for your advice much appreciated
