C Section at Kingston

Hello All,
I am scheduled to have my baby via elective c-section this coming Thursday.
I have just found out that the consultant who has been seeing me will not be the consultant performing the operation and instead a junior consultant who is on roster for that day will do the op.
This is stressful for me, but as I understand normal procedure. Has anyone any feedback on this and have any good or bad feedback for me? I am worried that a junior consultant has enough experience?
Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I didn't have a C section but I did give birth to my son at Kingston. The birth rooms, staff, and post natal set up was really very good I thought, much nicer & more personal than other local hospitals x

I'm not sure what is normal, but is it worth sharing your concerns with your mw or consultant and if it's possible to do so reschedule for a day when your consultant is operating? I imagine however this may not be possible?

I have two friend who have both had 2 x c-sections each at Kingston. 3 were ELCS, both were very happy with their experience, recovery and general healing of the scar. I'm not sure which obs carried out their CS but it''so normal not to have 'your' consultant for an ELCS, you just get the Dr on the rota for that day.

Don't worry! No one would put you in any situation that is risky for you!

I had an emegency section at Kingston and it was great. The after care there is bloody great too. I felt like I was in a hotel being waited on.

Congratulations.,
