38 weeks stomach bug - what to do

I am 38 wks and seem to have picked up a bit of a big from my DD1 who was poorly at the weekend. Nothing too awful, very nauseas, headache and don't feel great but not actually vomiting. Normally if not pregnant I wouldn't eat to try and starve the bug but I am wondering what the best course of action would be?? Keep eating or just not bother until i think it's cleared? Baby seems fine, if anything it's over active and making me more and more uncomfortable kicking my stomach and ribs. I have had some gaviscon as initially thought perhaps it was indigestion but I don't think it is as haven't really eaten and it's just nausea rather than burning.

Poor you. I had similar at 33 weeks pregnant. I didn't eat during the 'active' phase, no point really! I did try and keep sipping water, but actually couldn't keep it down. After 30 hrs I called midwife who gave me an anti emetic injection as was so dehydrated. It's grim but babies are tough little things. Obviously any change in movements get checked out straight away. Hope you get well soon.

Paracetamol and lots of water is my best non-professional advice, I wouldn't starve unless you actually are sick, but it doesn't sound like a stomach bug, if you have nothing other than nausea and a headache, is it possible you're having a migraine? If the headache persists get your blood pressure checked to be on the safe side. Hope you get better soon Flowers

Hope you feel better soon. I know you havent yet had any symptoms of upset stomach , but just wanted to remind you that it's quite common for your body to have a bit of a 'clear out' in the very early stages of labour, so keep an eye out for that!

Yes i did think about the pre-labour 'clear out' but i don't seem to be clearing anything out just feeling pretty grim. The headache is only quite mild so not sure it's a migraine. It feels rather similar to how I felt in the early weeks actually (sick, sick, sick). I am having an ELCS next week and really hoping little one doesn't feel like showing up today as i am knackered and just want to throw up! I had some toast and a packet of crisps for lunch (healthy...) and feel worse but kind of feel like I shouldn't starve myself at this late stage. Drinking lots of fluids and now allowing DD1 cbeebies for an hour so I can at least lie down.
