This month we've been ttc no.2.
I am on a hen do on Saturday, day 27 of my cycle. Not sure what my cycle is, or if it's completely regular, but my best guess is 28days.
I'd like to know before the hen do so I can tell the girls in confidence amd explain why I'm not drinking.
Do you think it's worth testing, and any recommendations on which test might pick it up earliest?
Thanks

Superdrug own brand tests gave me a bfp on day 27. They seem to be very reliable.

Depends though, i then miscarried a week later, i would almost rather have not known iyswim and just thought it was a late period.

But if you want to know then the superdrug tests have always been very reliabld for me and i see them recomrnded eksewhere.

Don't know about whether it's worth testing - I've always been a late tester - but I've heard that Superdrug own brand are very sensitive.

I got a positive 4 days before my period was due. Just used a boots one as they were on offer at the time and got a positive straightaway. I also got a line on an internet cheapie (although was faint). Most people will suggest a FRER I think (First response - the early one).

Good luck and I hope you get the result you want!

Got got a bfp on tesco own (very faint) on day 26 and on digital day 27

They're all much of a muchness. Internet cheapies from ebay or amazon, supermarkets own, Poundshop, Home Bargains etc. All modern pregnancy tests are pretty brilliant and most now pick up pregnancies earlier than your period is due. I tested positive at 8 days after ovulation with cheap ones (15 for £2) from ebay. Don't listen to anybody who tells you to buy a digital as they're 'more accurate' because often they're slightly less sensitive.

My only advice is to avoid those that come up with a +/- as they are known to suffer from dye bleeds and to go for pink dye over blue dye. Other than that, they're all as good as each other.

Oh and it depends when you ovulate as to whether it's worth testing. I ovulate on day 10 so by day 27 I'd be 17 days post ovulation and testing positive very strongly if pregnant!

Thanks for the fast replies. Off to superdrug then! I'd much rather test later but the hen do is now so it seems easier than lying...

No idea when I ovulate but I know I conceived ds1 very early in my cycle. Does that mean we needed to ttc earlier in the month? More effort went in a bit later!
