Nipple pain

Hi, I'm almost 19 weeks but I'm having the worst nipple pain ever. Is it just me? Is there anything I can do got it?

Even before I was pregnant if I was too cold my nipples would hurt so it's not anything new. But the pain in the last two weeks is unbelievable. I can be sitting in a warm room with a hoody on but the slightest draft can bring this on - almost to the point of tears. At the moment I'm not even going to consider breastfeeding due to this.

Will any of the creams for people who are feeding help? Is this even normal?

Sorry if this is tmi. I'm just fed up being sore!

you poor thing.. I can sympathise and also recommend Mama Mio nipple balm. It's expensive but it's done the trick for me at 11 weeks!

I sympathise - I've never had sensitive nipples before but when out in the cold the other day they got so painful I couldn't move! Maybe some extra insulation to keep them warm?

Maybe try Lansinoh? Or a breast pad to add a bit of padding? I used Boots own brand slim ones and they were good.

It might sound completely bizzarre, but I get this a lot while up in the mountains - I have some possum wool nipple warmers I got when I lived in nz. Bought as a joke. But actually they're quite good!

I can't believe I just stared that with the Internet....

Sounds possibly like Raynauds of the nipple. Do they go white when you experience the pain? I had this when pregnant and in the early days of breastfeeding. Absolute agony... Would be in tears because of it. Doctors and midwives didn't really know much about it either, which was hard.

Thanks for the replies. No they don't look any different when sore as I have been checking almost looking for something to make better.
Will try the creams and pads and see if it helps.

I'm with you for sure - sometimes hurts so much I feel sick and wouldn't be surprised if they were bleeding when I looked at them. They never are of course but it is painful outside in the cold for sure.

I don't have a solution but just got some cream at supermarket so hopefully that will help.
