can i request a 3rd scan?

Just had 20 weeks scan and everything looks good but they couldn't tell us the sex of baby! It's little bum was in the way. Can we request a third scan on nhs? Xx

No they won't give you a scan to find out the sex. You will have to pay privately. Maybe little one wants to be a surprise

No, the 20 weeks scan is an anomoly scan and finding out the sex is just a bonus. The only reason for extra scans are if they couldn't get the measurements and checks done cause of how the baby is positioned or if there are issues as pregnancy progresses such as gestational diabetes, bleeding etc

I paid for a private scan to find out the sex, cost 60 pounds. If you can't do that then I would focus on the fact that all went well with your scan and everything is looking good and healthy

Nope. Sex isn't important. A healthy baby is. Go private if you really need to know. Otherwise gave a nice surprise or go with nub theory which failed spectacularly for me
