I'm 34 weeks pregnant plus 1 day my water broke at 29 weeks I'm going to be induced at 36 weeks because I turned it down at 34 weeks now I really wish I hadn't I'm up and down the hospital like a yoyo and can't take much more do u think castor oil would work to induce me ??

Umm i don't know but why is that preferable to being induced in hospital? I think castor oil just gives you the raging suits.

I wouldn't rush to have an early baby, it's not nice, but it's only another two weeks worth of growth your baby really needs/

Because I turned down being induced at 34 weeks and opted to be at 36 weeks not realising how many times a week I was goin to have to go for observations every time I go I end up being admitted I just wish I'd said yes to having it done at 34 weeks

Couldn't you ask about bringing it forward this instead?

sarkymare · 05/03/2015 16:44

I think the only thing castor oil is likely to induce is the shits. AFAIK it isn't recommended either.

Labour and bad diarrhoea could get real messy. I personally wouldn't take it.

It always amazes me to still see people asking about castor oil. It is not recommended as it can cause baby to become distressed. Please do your research before trying to induce yourself. If you're being observed so much why not ask to bring the induction forward.
I know personally I would opt for daily observations or even being admitted to keep my pre term baby in utero for as long as possible.

I'm seeing my consultant Monday I'll ask him to bring it forward then I'm just fed up I never see the same doctor whilst I'm in and out and I get told completely different things constantly I don't think I'll actually use the castor oil as I'd die of embarrassment if I poo in front of my partner lol I won't even go toilet if he's in the house I'm just completely fed up and at the end of my tether now

Ah bless you it's not much fun. The shits won't help though! Smile is Monday you're next trip in?

My Mum always tells me aboout how she took castor oil to induce labour with my brother.. she didn't make it to the toilet and said that it was a good job her carpets at the time were brown Shock

No tomorrow is my next trip in but that's only in dau with the midwifes to do fetal heart monitoring and my bloods to check for signs of infection then ill be in Monday to hopefully see my consultant last time he was not in clinic and I was a bit pissed to off to be honest I think we should only see one doctor as it's confusing at times
