I have heard that it helps 'ripen the cervix' in preparation for labour, and that it shoudnt be taken before week 38. However, have also read conflicting views that suggest it shouldnt be taken. Anyone know anything about this?

I looked into it to help my hormonal balance/skin (am 17wks) and I think it depends on the dosage. The pharmacist I spoke to said 500mg a day was OK but no more. HTH

Thanks Doghouse - I have found a few more sites that seem to think that dose is okay too. Thanks for your reply
