Pregnany after giving birth? Faint pos but bleeding

Hello
I gave birth to my baby boy on December 14th. I had sex exactly 3 weeks after this date (unprotected) however I was partially breastfeeding so I thought I would be okay until I read it needs to be ebf. I have not had sex since that one occasion not even protected sex. So if I was pregnant it would have to be from that time.

After sex I got paranoid and took a test 8 days after which was a faint pos. I assumed it could be left over hormone from pregnancy and then I took one every day for the next 6 days but they kept getting fainter so I put it down to left over hormone then I had what I assumed was my first pp period which was very heavy mildly painful and lots of clotting. The day before I came on my period I got an extremely clear positive test and I assumed I was probably ptegnant again. It stopped and then when I wasn't bleeding I had a lot of mucus and clear discharge which was odd, I then had an increased sence of smell like never before, tested and looked negative and repeated tests. I came on my second period 9 days earlier than expected and was same as previous one. I am due to go out for a drink this weekend for my friends birthday and I just have a feeling things aren't right so I did another test to ease my mind. I put it up against a positive test I have (in my babies scrapbook from when I found out I was pregnant) and the their is a faint line on all of my tests in the exact same position as the clear positive line, however this line is so faint that it needs light shining on it to even notice it's there.

The thing is I'm 3 months pp so I thought there would be no hormones left over and it it was a fresh pregnancy surely a test would show dark and I would have no bleeding at all?

I'm just nervous as I had my little boy 8 weeks early and don't want a repeat with this one so need to get help with it asap as I have an issue with my cervix not being able to carry babies to term

you are normally advised that you need to start contraception 21 days after birth. I would have though it unlikely that you are pregnant from the one occasion 3 weeks after the birth. Could you try one of those digital tests instead rather than trying to see a line?

You should go and explain this to the GP so you can have a blood test or scan. I thought that the right hormone for a + test was not present after about the first trimester, never mind months after birth?? I might have made that up!

I'd think it unlikely, but definitely see your GP to reassure yourself.

You should definitely see a medical professional. You could, potentially, have got/be pregnant. The doctor/hospital can do comparative hcg tests and see whether your level is rising or not. Good luck

So weird! Would definitely agree with doc for final decision.
hCG is high first trimester, defo still around other trimesters too but pp I don't know about!
