Bruise on bump

Hello!

I'm 35 weeks and just noticed I've developed a bruise on my bump, just above my belly button. I Suspect it may be from leaning over my desk today but wondered if anyone else has any experience.

Do I need to see anyone? There's no pain and baby is moving normally.

I burned mine with the iron! As long as movements are normal there should be no concern. My only query is that you don't know how it happened?

Nope, it doesn't hurt and I certainly haven't given it a knock at any point. I think I'm happy to leave it for this evening (as baby is wriggling well) and double check my desk height tomorrow. If it's any worse I'll give the midwife a call.

Hope your bump recovered from it's burn. I don't iron so no worries there!

I always bruise with no idea as to how. Sometimes I bruise from shaking people's hands! It will most likely only be a skin bruise, takes a big knock to do anything worse

The bump is 10 months old now with no ill effects. Grin. MW says it is surprisingly common - tops get a bit short towards the end and you aren't used to sticking out so much and owwwwww. She said I was by no means the first she'd seen.

I don't iron much either. That might have been why I was so clumsy with it!!

The only time to worry is if you are rhesus negative and can't explain the bruising or took a knock to bump
