?...when you genuinely don't know how many weeks pregnant you are? I got three BFP two weeks ago (the clear blue tests said I was three weeks + at that time. For annoying reasons it will be another week until I get even a doctors appointmeng. Will they book me in for a scan straight away?

If you don't know when your last period was/haven't been having periods then you'll probably get an early scan. Otherwise they'll just go by your period.

I had an early scan at which they guessed at about 8 weeks and told me to come back in 4. They dated it properly as being 13 weeks at the second.
The GP and midwife both said it was better to have an unnecessary scan and have to come back than to potentially have it late.
The sonographer however wasn't aware and expected me to be 12 weeks at the first, I was assuming that it was on my notes. This meant she told me it looked like the pregnancy may not have progressed which was obviously pretty upsetting. An internal scan however showed a strong heartbeat. So I would recommend that you make the situation clear to each individual you see, and expect the first scan to be internal.
