try not to worry too much you mite not get them it depend on how much weight and stuff you put on!!! i havent really put to much weight on but where i have it gone to my legs and bum and that where ive got my strechmarks, a few on my boobs but most of them wont be on show oonce my lo has appereared!!!

Bugsy2 · 26/10/2006 11:14

last two weeks - was gutted.

marymillington · 26/10/2006 11:20

I think whether you get them has as much to do with genetic predisposition as weight gain. Possibly also zinc deficiency. I've got strethcmarks on my stretchmarks now.l

But if this is your first one, fear not, they will fade into insignifance (compared to your jelly belly and the dark circles under your eyes)

Daisypops · 26/10/2006 11:20

I've read that if your mum didn't get them its quite possible you won't. But who knows. I read on here that a MN'ers mum didn't have them but she did.

I'm 29 weeks today and still haven;'t got any. I've got silver ones on my bum and thighs from when I lost weight last year but no big red ones on my belly-yet.

Palmers stretch mark cream is supposed to be good, thats what I'm using.

JodieG1 · 26/10/2006 11:28

I only got a few on the underside of my boobs as they grew quite a lot in first 2 pregnancies, this time they're even bigger (was a C cup before this and am now an E already but first time went from B to DD) and I haven't noticed any new ones yet. I haven't gotten any on my stomach (touch wood) with any baby yet so we'll see about this one, I'll be 29 weeks on Sunday too.

JodieG1 · 26/10/2006 11:29

Oh and my mother did get stretchmarks.

BENDYB · 26/10/2006 11:58

my mum hasn't got 1 single stretch mark, neither has my older sister, I've got loads now tho! They appeared at bout 25 weeks i think, & seemed like they just came overnight!
I used palmers cocao butter stretch mark lotion from the day I found out i was pregnant but didn't work 4me! I'm usin bio oil now, makes my skin feel really nice.

sputnik · 26/10/2006 12:10

I didn't get them either, despite putting on loads of weight. Don't know if this was down to my homemade anti-stretchmark cream, but I'll share my recipe anyway:
equal parts pure shea butter and cocoa butter
few drops orange oil
few drops neroli oil (got an already diluted one as the pure stuff costs a bomb)
blob of aloe gel
splash of vitamin E
Heat just enough to be able to mix all together.
Smear all over once a day from appearance of bump onwards.
I found a tub or tube of each of the ingredients was enough, and actually cost less than the creams you can get.
Also smelt divine.

TheBlonde · 26/10/2006 14:11

I already had mine from puberty
Got maybe 1 extra from DS

My tip - drink lots of water

QuootieSpookypie · 26/10/2006 14:13

8 months, I stopped putting cream on because I thought I was getting away with it, but literally overnight they apeared! Still have them

mumfor1standfinaltime · 26/10/2006 14:17

I didn't notice any until I put a mirror near my belly in the bath at around 8 months and was horrified! lol. I was so big that I couldn't see my feet and I gained 4 stone.
I have almost lost all the weight now and stretch marks have faded, so don't worry there is light at the end of the tunnel!

After the birth - or it may be just that I couldn't see them from the hugely pregnant angle and only noticed afterwards...? [humm]

griffintribe · 26/10/2006 14:52

Month 7. Was so upset at first one and then DH pointed out the three huge ones under my belly that i couldn't see

p555nat · 26/10/2006 17:01

Clarins Body tonic oil (specially for strech marks) is wonderful! Put on boobs and tummy every morning after your shower!! Hope it helps!
