Great I had my two there. Had emergency csections both times. I found the care very good before and after.

I had an ELCS at Bedford hospital a couple of years ago and am expecting to deliver DC2 there in a few months.
I have nothing but good things to say about the experience. I found the MWs easy to talk to and well informed. DH and I took their antenatal classes over NCT ones and they were very good indeed, up to date, factual, non-judgemental etc. we had a tour of the labour rooms and they looked good as well, they had some great water birth set ups that I had my eye on but we ended up having the ELCS as DC1 was breech.
I was a bit underwhelmed by the consultants, we had a different one each time, and all of them were very disconnected and prone to talking at you as opposed to you, IYKWIM. But the MWs were always on hand and fab.
The surgery was quick, on time and really relaxed. And I had one night on the ward which wasn't bad at all and one night in a private room. In both instances I had easy access to care and advice - which I took full advantage of by asking a million questions on the hour Grin. They let me keep baby next to me for easy access to BF and provided lots of support.
Am really glad that's where I get to have the second one too!
