So I'm almost eleven weeks post c section and I've done some exercise so far but today after using the cross trainer which thinking back I may have gone abit fast and all on it I started to bleed. I'm confused as I thought this far after my section I wouldn't bleed after exercise

Are you bleeding from the scar? If so that doesn't sound right Op and I would call 111 or out of hours.

I had a C-Section and went back to the gym 4 weeks post op. By 8 weeks I was spinning, weight lifting, boxing etc. with no problems. I am sure everyone is different but bleeding after 11 weeks sound unusual to me.

I see. My period was a bit all over the first 3/4 months. As babiecake says it may well be your period. Are you on the pill? It could be your pill is not right for you. That also happened to me.

Speak to your GP is worried.

I've had two sections and the bleeding is very sporadic for the first three months after and I always start bleeding a bit when doing excersize. You may have over done it a bit but if your not in pain I shouldn't worry too much, it'll probably settle down. My period came back this time at 11 weeks so it could be that.

Aley009 · 03/03/2015 13:04

I did go to my gp she said she's not worried at the moment but shes doing her job I guess by saying to keep an eye on it and if it comes back or my next period is wierd to go back after a month, at moment she thinks the bleed was left over from my period ... We'll see .....

I've had 2 sections and I would say that 11 weeks is too early for the cross trainer.
Generally if you bleed you've done too much.

GymBum · 03/03/2015 14:07

I have had CS but I was always active pre pregnancy and I went back to the gym at 4 weeks. I was spinning, weight training, boxing and generally back to BAU. I was completely fine and the Consultant was happy with me going back.

I think everyone is individual and going back to training at 11 weeks may not be for everyone but it's not too early. I know 4 other people that went back to full training between 4 and 6 weeks.

Aley009 · 03/03/2015 14:15

I went back to using the cross trainer at 5 weeks which made me bleed and the same at 6 weeks but I have used it on and off from 5 weeks , which is why I am confused with the bleed but the bleed seems to be connected to my recent period

Aley if you trained prior/during your pregnancy then you will know the limits of your body. If you have any doubts then play it safe maybe go more low impact (recline bike etc.)

But I bled on and off for 3/4 months. My consultant did tell me to expect it though.

Glad you saw your GP and best wishes

GymBum · 03/03/2015 15:06

Aley. Just a thought, have you had the Linea Alba post pregnancy test done? This is something recommended to get checked before going back to training. 99.9% of the time everyone is fine to go back.
